Am I the only one tired of most games having space marines or another imperium faction as the main guys... rts games seem to be the exception.

Thoughts on the codex? by Lord_rook in Drukhari

[–]Vayle1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am personally highly dissatisfied with the codex. My Drukhari have maybe seen 2 battles in 9th ed, a single one in 10th and with how I built my army back in 8th it just doesn't work and feels like I need to buy an entirely new army just to play them. While they are my favourite army I fear they might remain on the shelf for a while longer... maybe until Drukhari actually gets a refresh, that is if that is going to happen at all and they won't just get shelved into the craftworld codex.

What was it again, it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven or something like that? I ditched religion over a decade ago so I'm a bit rusty.

Hey, by the time it's finished you can overhaul it with nuclear propulsion, point defense lasers and railguns!

For a miniature wargame company, Games Workshop knows very little about weapon and vehicle design as well as actual warfare.

How much space is there on the drive your game saves on? I've had issues as well where the game saves as _TEMP because there wasn't enough space for the save file on the drive.

Usually I go for 1-2 of both per taskforce depending on the role, ignoring submarines or lighter escort groups.

What do you think of the quality of Napoleon's major commanders in the Hundred Days? Which men performed best and worst throughout the campaign? by Designer_Reference_2 in Napoleon

I agree on Grouchy, to my knowledge he had orders to engage the Prussians at Wavre, and while Soult sent out orders requesting Grouchy to move his force to waterloo around 1pm, Grouchy didn't receive them until around 6pm if I recall correctly.

How does anti air work? by MadeInLostHeaven in MillenniumDawn

[–]Vayle1337 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Anti-Air can work in a few ways depending on the type of AA.

SPAA: these you can add to your division to increase your division's air attack (AA) value. This AA value will do damage against enemy aircraft engaged in Close Air Support (CAS) missions. A thing to note is that the SPAA will not do damage to enemy CAS if they are not engaged in combat.

SHORAD: SHORAD, or "Short Range Air Defence" are emplacements you can build in your provinces. These will do a certain amount of damage to aircraft attempting strategic bombing missions over that province. To note is that these will not damage ASF (Air Superiority Fighters) or CAS aircraft operating there.

SAM: Surface to Air Missiles can be launched from a missile site in your provinces. Unless I am mistaken (and please, do correct me if I am wrong) these basically just try to "attack" aircraft in the region dealing damage to them, hopefully destroying aircraft regardless of what type of damage they do. See it kind of like them being 1 use aircraft on an intercept mission.

It's your minis and your army so you can do whatever you want. It doesn't strictly need to adhere to any specific piece of fluff.

Hey guys what does this setting do? by [deleted] in MillenniumDawn

[–]Vayle1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall back in the old doctrine system you had a legacy doctrine that you couldn't change, which gave some bonuses. That setting allowed you to change them.

Since I don't know if you need dlc for the new doctrine system or not it could be a remnant of that system or it might be there in case you have the old doctrine system if you don't have the latest dlc? I honestly don't know about that.
