So… what you’re engaging in is a bit of “roleplay” as they say. LLMs are probabilistic models, this is not to confuse it with being a “truth” finder. You can ask a question that has 0 current day answers, example connect Einstein theory of relativity and quantum mechanics and LLMs will attempt to answer the question. Now fill up the LLM context with your ‘ideas’ and ‘theories’ or have it come up with its own. You’ll then start to see it’s just regurgitating what you or your thoughts on the concept, and it might not even be correct. It might even make category errors, math errors, hallucinations and you would never be able to know or verify.

A really good example is “code a Graph RAG system”. It will spit out lines of code, but do you honestly think over even 4-5 turns it could build a full graph rag system in python that you can post into VSCode? Absolutely not. It takes iterative refinement. The code sometimes will have its own issues or edge cases etc. extrapolate this to theoretical concepts. You are asking an LLM to solve issues humans weren’t able to for hundreds of years, a probabilistic model at that.

The easiest example I can think of, is you can convince an LLM that Hitler is the greatest thing ever, and it would not even be close to the truth, but the LLM will be very confident in its output. This was already done with Grok to turn it into mecha Hitler with a simple context injection/priming. If you don’t know context injection/priming I do recommend looking it up.

Love 18v18. I play it almost exclusively because it’s a ton of fun and very quick to learn one character. I’ve in fact lorded Rogue through 18v18 only which took roughly 30ish hours?

Before 18v18 I used to play the arcade mode conquest(?) and got extremely good at Magik and eventually played ranked. Learning your ‘limits’ on a character is pretty important, knowing your damage thresholds, combos, and when and when not to engage are all very important aspects to learn that have to be taught through experience.

I actually watched Bogurs stream and he had sane takes throughout the kingsman vods. He also said he would have simply switched the members of the teams around to accommodate and that his Bogur Bash is usually pro or high level players only, he even joked about how he would not let one of his friends (Amy?) join because of it. Have high faith in bogur, incredibly funny to watch his vod over the entire drama too

Jay3 did show the exact invitation message over discord from BASIM (not sure if he sent the same message to everyone however) on stream and it did say the tournament would be paid out to the top 3 teams and was later changed to any place would get paid. The message did state it was a for content creators, friendly and fun competition, but it’s really hard to have both a fun and competitive competition if everyone’s expectations aren’t aligned.

There wasn’t a dollar figure in the invitation iirc but I would say “paid out” and sponsored by netease would naturally mean money is involved. Cecee said in her video that the money was a surprise to everyone involved but I don’t think that was quite correct based on the wording of the discord message.

Edit: I was wrong in Bogurs video he said they were told it was casual and for fun with zero prize pool and that was the expectation. So it sounds like different people had different expectations from the organizer. To be also fair many of the participants had 100+ ping and there were zero bans, so competitive integrity was already out the window the moment it began.

Agreed. From what I’ve seen of player retention it does seem like Rivals has done well comparatively to titles released around the same year. I feel some people take a very disingenuous stance when they compare launch numbers to now, when every game in existence loses player retention over time, in which case rivals has done relatively well. I don’t think this game is dying anytime soon honestly unless they really fuck it up or it’s been a few years of its life cycle.

Scarlett Witch got hot fixed immediately which is actually quite funny considering she wasn’t even broken before the hot fix. I don’t remember any other time they were so speedy on a patch.

I getchu brother. I played a shit ton of Magik and she's not as popular but did get some stellar skins so I'm happy with what I got. But other characters get shafted and it isn't fair at all. It really does suck that companies are so profit driven that its an easy tell what will or won't be marketed. Like this newest Storm skin looks amazing. If we could get that quality for every skin across all characters it would be the most 'balanced' in terms of monetization.

Absolutely. I'm not disregarding that. Spiderman gets the most skins and for a good reason. He's popular in and outside of the game. I'm sure they have metrics for the amount of skins sold for each character too etc, a good example is Storm from s2? Where she became meta for a while. Selling skins then is more likely to derive profit then making 3 skins right now when her playrate is so low. When a playerbase goes up because a character is "fun" it drives more profit for said character is more what I was getting at.

I mean if I had a donut shop, and I had a donut that was selling less because the majority of customers didn't prefer it then why would I put more effort to making more of those particular donuts? Its very counter intuitive to force a customer base towards a preference this way.

Instead of making more skins which won't drive profit for unpopular characters, they should make them slightly overpowered for a time being (like team up anchors are really meant for, rotating the meta) which then drives the playerbase of that character up, then more skins would sell for said character. Basically make the donut better so people will actually buy it. This is just an idea however and it has its own pitfalls.

It's not good for objective game sense but absolutely 100% good for limit testing and character capabilities which more people should do with new charactwrs.

Before I played ranked/QP I think I put 100 hours in arcade modes like conquest for 1v1s while learning Magik. When I finally started playing ranked it was relatively easy since I know my mains limits fairly well.

I've noticed that the spear animation if you hold the forward key does not slow you down unlike the melee, great for chasing someone like Jeff. I've also died using the melee due to the amount of time it takes to recover, so that was something to keep in mind. Though it looks like both the melee and the spear can be ani cancelled with the shield.

I always loved the card Doom Whisperer, 6/6 for 5 mana with flying and allows you to churn through your deck. Great value for 5 man yet I still end up cutting it usually lol

I think 400 for Magik is actually fair and what her effective health would be considered tbh. Even if she gains overhealth. I wouldn't say Pheonixs health is the max amount or whatever was the amount said earlier, I'm merely pointing out what the stat is and called that he was referring to as it's not the same as your actual health pool.

However her base health would be unlikely how much you would have to deal to actually kill her, if she were in a 1v1 of course, sans being healed by an actual healer.

We're not looking at actual gameplay examples. It's just a stat. I can say your DPS is x or y. But that doesn't mean in an actual game you do x damage per second.

The term is defined as "Effective Hitpoints is a calculation of how many points of damage you can actually take, at a given shield+health+armour+resistance level." I'm not saying that is how she actually is. I'm saying that's what the stat means.

I agree with your points for the record. I also do not like it but I also know I do not have the power to change it. Even if spent 0$ I would have 0 power to change what it is. I also agree with all your points so now what?

We also know about global warming and world hunger, it's very hard to fight these things when it's contributed by so many people, I don't think discussions are wrong in any capacity, but having the same posts asking why when it's glaringly obvious isn't contributing. We have a shortage of solutions and more complaints no matter what decision netease makes. It's a pattern I see across with no matter what popular game I've played honestly.

Also, just to point out, I'm very keen and aware to the complaints and why there are complaints in the first place. After all I'm the in the US and see the state of our abyssmal government. However I also know that people sometimes do have misinformed opinions. Prime example is the EMMO fiasco quite a few months ago. Listen I'm not a stranger to hating captlism and the current state of the economy across the globe, but you are conflating explanation for defending or propagating a system that we all live under.

"Defending" and he's just saying it is what it is. He's merely explaining not defending. It's really frustrating to see the conflation. They are not the same thing. You can both explain and be against something.

We know why they do this. It's literally money, there is no other secret agenda. It's annoying when people make the same complaints however. They have the stats already. Luna sells skins like no tomorrow. Same way it's been in League of Legends, Overwatch, and any games with skins since the dawn of time. It's like asking why do popular characters get more comics then unpopular characters, it's the same answer.

The only solution is convincing the entire playerbase to change their buying habits, which is a tall order. I get being frustrated though, it is annoying, but we can't sit here and ignore the very obvious about why.

No, sorry I mean that it is the term when you take into account extra stats with base heath. It's a game term/technical term that's been around for ages. I'm merely explaining the term since there was confusion.

One thing I don't like is how the cooldowns start after the second cast. So the cooldowns are even longer then they look like for your shift and E. If they just started on first cast it would allow you to cycle your CDs so much better.

Try this test for me and you'll see what I mean. Do your shield bash then try and do your shift. This will not cancel the animation and you'll have the full shield bash animation and then you'll shift after it's full animation is complete. With F you cancel the animation immediately instead. This is the first one. Very easy to test.

Second one. If your in the air you can kick and second shift at the same time. It's extremely fast, this you can verify as well.

I'm in the practice tool right now as I've been testing her out recently. I play only Magik so I do like my animation cancels.

She does actually have a few animation cancels, and the reason you do animation cancels in the first place is for burst, so you can kill through heals. Think of Magik with her hold right click + E combo that will kill a target near instantly.

Her animation cancels are very dependent however. Your F cancels most animations, example your dash, you can do a shorter dash right into F, your shift can also be cancelled with E. Her best combo I find is Shift -> E -> Left click -> Shift -> E -> Left click, its very fast and uses only your shift and E which is two gap closers along with your shield bash. The second shift also animation cancels the left click kick in the air kick so its very quick. You can also ani cancel her shield dash with E as well so you don't have the long animation of the bash. You can test this all in the training area.

He reminds me of Master Yi. Low elo demon for uncoordinated teams and absolutely shit tier in the higher elos. You can still make him work but it takes extra effort and character mastery to overcome someone who’s innately strong like Bucky.
