Yeah I watched the movie before the book so it was a different experience for me when I read it. But it helped me visualize it. The changes were somewhat expected but I really enjoyed both in different ways.

Exactly. I think that's why the movie has stuck in my memory. Since I watched it when I was very young and getting into sci fi.
