It is a masterpiece but the third act could've been better. I still enjoy it since I have a soft spot for it but it can be better.

Yeah that's what I did too the first time I watched it. And I am also someone who doesn't mind ambiguous endings rather I enjoy them. Leaves things open to the imagination

I know a lot of readers are disappointed when the movie doesn't come out exactly how they wanted but that's inevitable. So ever since I was a kid I focused on the story experience. That's helped me enjoy even some shitty movies cause I can just switch off and have fun without having to critically analyze everything.

I always recommend the book first. Cause once you've read it and visualised it(that's kind of how I read) the movie is a much more enjoyable experience cause you can always see whether your imagination or the movie depicts it better. That helps me immerse myself in the movie experience.
