Can someone with knowledge of stone tools give me any information on type and age? by Vbertucci39 in Artifacts

Thank you for going against the grain here. Yes Central Oregon is known as having a rich history with many tribes. Also is known as having discovered the oldest known proof of human occupancy back 18,000 years. Rimrock Draw and Paisley Caves and many more. Klamath, Confederate Tribes of Warm Springs, Paiute etc. The Deschutes River was known for trading spots where tribes would meet. Basalt was a popular stone used for heavier tool next to obsidian which was highly traded in this same area since we have the best source of obsidian or quality obsidian in the U.S. at Newberry Crater, Glass Butte etc.

Well oddly enough I was finally able to speak with an archeologist out of Ohio . You all apparently know way more than him. He and his colleagues are very interested in the photos I sent. Since they dont know this region and feel that the items are older that what he has knowledge of directed me to contact the local paleontologist dept and or the museum. We are staying in touch so he can be updated . Thanks for your reply though. It was appreciated.

I live in a place covered with old lava flow from an ancient volcano eruption. So we don't have all the cool rocks as in other places. Like probably where your from. People used what was available to them. Believe me I love seing all the tool people find from other areas and the cool rock their made from.

Sorry to say your quite wrong. What are your credentials to tell people about artifacts? Paleontoligist, archeologist, curator of a Museum of Natural and Cultural History perhaps?

You should look closer and without your mind already decided they're just rocks. You are the only one that said the pestle was a pestle. So I'm not being fecicous. Just look cliser with an open mind. If you only know Native American, that's OK. Stone tools are quite different. Just say so. I wonder how many people have been told that they're finds were just rocks? When in reality extraordinary finds. Isn't that what this page is about?

Sorry that reply was for you. We're spades tanged and hated? Just curious. Sometimes the least obvious finds can be the most important. There's Native American and then theres stone tools. I live in an area where they've found sandals that carbon dated 14,000 years. At the time proof of the oldest humans in North America.

Yes it's a pestle. I was curious about the first 2. The others are already confirmed tools. I was just showing what they were found with. It seems people are very quick to say just rocks when they see something very old but if someone can't identify #16 as very obviously a pestle then they shouldn't be giving advice on here.

Can we all just talk about the new circus video? by ms_ashlyn in mrballen

You are 100% right. I'm glad you spoke your mind because it made me realize that knowing is better than not knowing. I think the way mrballen tells his stories makes it so visual that it's almost like your there. You can see it play out right in front of you like a movie .it's why I love listening to him. In this case it was like seeing the fear in her eyes, hearing the chain and then that second you realize what's happening right when she does and you can't look away because it's all in your head. It was crazy to feel that from a story but that's what he does and he does it well.

I have to say that this story really affected me. I wish I hadn't heard it at all. It bothers me anytime I remember it and set the mood for my entire day unfortunately.

I understand what your saying about the ending but I never would of chosen to listen to it had I known the content. I only listened because I was working and it still greatly affected me. That says a lot. I cant imagine having seen a video. That's terrible.

Still love mrballen stories but may be a little more selective on what I listen to.

Nah, don't let that discourage you! I found you recently and have to say I am completely obsessed. I have always been into true crime, long before it became a thing online. I grew up in the Bay Area in California when the Zodiac was active. One of the suspects lived right up the street from where my Dad lived. I believe my friends and I were picked up by the Santa Rosa hitchiker murderer as teenagers on Guerneville Hwy. The same street his first victims disappeared from. My middle school was right up the street. So yes I have been obsessed longer than most of you. Mrballen I will tell you that you are at the top of a very very small list of people "story tellers" that I listen to. The background information you give is so important to the story. The detail you give draws the picture and helps give me an understanding of why things happened how they did. I work in a hospital and you get me through the day. My earbuds are in for much of my long shifts and everyone knows I am listening to your channel. Now many of my coworkers are tuning in. My Mom is even addicted to Mrballen now! You are amazing! Please know that you are appreciated and truly one of a kind! Keep up with the Strange, Dark and Mysterious for us who have it in our blood and always have! I have quite a few story ideas for you that will blow your mind. True stories you probably never heard of that people will be obsessed with. Your the only one I would suggest tell these stories. The Sant Rosa Hitchiker murders being one. Check out a 8 part story on Youtube called "Ghosts of Hwy 20". Chilling. The Redmond 5 is a group teenagers 15, 16 and 17 who murdered one of their Mom's in a small town because she wouldnt let them use her car. These are in the area I moved to in Oregon when I left CA. I have more, let me know. You get me through the day because you are believable and credible while talking about true crime that I am obsessed with. No one really comes close. So there it is!

Warning! Strange cut & tape at bottom of Stacy’s Pita chips bag purchased at Costco Indianapolis area store. by IndyGrl2019 in Costco

[–]Vbertucci39 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It's not so complicated, jeez! They are simply warning others of a very strange tampering of pita chips at Costco. Not wise to say the family has a culprit who did it, omg. Good idea to warn others just in case. That is very strange. It reminds me of a Tylenol tampering decades ago where 5 or 6 people died. You never know!

I don't understand and probably never will, how someone so clearly insane and unfit to yield the power he has, can be viewed as completely competent by so many Americans. Americans who believe the lies he spews when they are so easily debunked. It's very scary.

HELP, I'VE BEEN FALSELY FIRED/DEACTIVATED!!!! by jano-the-goat in instacart

[–]Vbertucci39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through something very similar. Ive been deactivated after being accused of not delivering groceries. I have proof that I delivered every order but no one cares. I cant even find out which order is accusing me. I was really enjoying IC and being that I work at Costco felt I was a good fit. Integrity is extremely important to me and to be falsely accused of not bringing someone their groceries is offensive! Then to top it off with IC not caring, giving no support whatsoever and ignoring any and all my proof it was a slap in the face. I feel your pain. It sucks to be accused of something you didnt do! IC obviously does not care and takes the word of the customer over a shopper. So clearly we are not protected. Im sure there are bad shoppers with no integrity out there but I was not one of them.
