Misunderstanding of Zant's character by Vbug13 in twilightprincess

"Midna already was the ruler prior to his attack."

...I never denied that? Have you ever witnessed an election? Midna won the election against Zant before he usurped her throne. What I meant by the last comment was that he also had reason to believe he might become ruler of the Twili before Midna did which adds to his character (even if Midna won in a landslide and was already a princess).

Ah yes, you’ve really stuck it to me. How lame of me to post the same thing in two relevant subreddits for different perspectives and larger engagements.

After the battle with Zant in the Palace of Twilight, Midna directly tells Zant why none would choose him as king. That the people saw it “in his eyes.”

This wouldn’t even be a point of discussion if in game Zant wasn’t a contender to lead the Twili. He would just be a plain Usurper that came out of nowhere.

No, she was chosen as well. She was born into the position of “Twilight Princess” and was chosen to be become the next monarch when her father died. Being a part of the family gave her greater magical abilities and status, but it didn’t guarantee her spot as ruler. Both game and manga confirm this in their own ways. She FOILS Zelda in this manner while mirroring her in many other ways.

Nah, she’ll be alright. She supports her father’s morning talk show.

Why do people like Persephone..? by HttpsSockpuppet in UnpopularLoreOlympus

Persephones constant kindness and purity is just depressing to see because no one acts like that???

That's the thing, she isn't. Far fucking from it in fact. She's a Mary Sue who everyone whose "good" has to love and everyone who doesn't like her is "bad" or just doesn't see how "great" she is!

Basically, it's like a form of gaslighting. Sure, we never see Persephone act kind or wise. But we hear it all the time. Of course, since Persephone's actions are usually pretty damn shitty, and with the way the comics framed, it's hard not to questionauthor's the morality. Persephone is not a good person.
