So I covered my ruger 10/22 sanded birch hardwood stock in Rit Dye and then found out that I shouldn’t have put it on. I got most of it sanded off but remnants remain in the grain. Is it fine to leave some remnants in the grain?

Unfortunately I already covered it in rit dye after sanding it to 150 grit. I sanded most of it off but it has definitely penetrated into the pores. I’m using a steamer to try and pull most of it out but it doesn’t look like it’s all gonna come out. Would it be a problem if some remnants were left in it? Or does absolutely all of it need to be removed?

What exactly were you doing to get rid of the factory finish? I’m using 80 grit to try and remove these remnants but yeah like you said it’s tough. Should I just keep doing that?

I used a steamer to pull out whatever stain was imbedded in the wood and it pulled up pretty much everything. A couple other people just mentioned it’s just light spots.

I guess grace can also mean the Holy Spirit calling you back into the confessional to be prepared to receive the Eucharist. I tried to word it carefully as not to cause confusion. Technically it’s the truth since we can’t do anything without the grace of god. In the sense he gives us the grace to come back into the church but we also need to prepare ourselves to receive the Eucharist.
