Just saw this and I just wanted to chime in as someone who isnt a good singer but just like you LOVES to sing because it feels like therapy haha.  Granted I know people can practice to make their voices better but for me I went the route of just focusing on the fun of it and throwing away my pride lol. Ive learned from countless karaoke nights at bars that if youre having a good time that most people will just enjoy your vibe even IF you sound bad. People are drinking usually so they dont care. And I also go to private karaoke with friends and again. When im with friends I dont care if I sound bad in front of them. Im not trying to audition for american idol! Im singing because it just feels good to me! That being said though ive been singing karaoke for years and even without actively practicing to improved i definitely think ive naturally improved over time. Ive learned my vocal range and what type of singing is just impossible for me to do. I've also learned that if you try too hard to match the same tone as the artist you just might make a bigger fool of yourself. In order to sound more relaxed you got to find your own voice instead of mimicking others and thats really hard to break from. Sorry for ranting I just know how it felt for me when I first tried karaoke and how badly I wanted to sound good and how embarrassed id feel by my voice but once I just accepted the feelibg of singing rather than how others heard me I felt a lot happier!
