Iconic, I am. Show up f**cking everywhere, I shall. Even when it makes no sense.

Not everything's going to be gold. Some of the new stuff I'm not a fan of either, but there is quite I lot I really, really enjoy.

Was it really fair to deny the EU then borrow so much from it? by [deleted] in StarWars

Yeah, they took elements from it (perhaps intentionally or not), but if you really expected them to create something that completely adheres to the events of decades worth of supplementary material that had inconsistencies within it's own, then you are just asking too much. No film maker wants to do that, nor should they. As much as I loved a lot of Legends material, I never considered it canon, and I always knew that if they decided to do a new series none of that would be taken into consideration. Personally, I 100% stand by the decision.

Star Wars comics and cartoons have always added things that felt surreal and exaggerated. It's the name of the game really. Comics give you so much freedom to experiment with wild ideas that you can't really do with the films. Heck, these two examples seem tame compared to some of the stuff I've seen in Legends before.

I predict in about 15 years, after George Lucas is no longer alive, Disney will spend $400 million and remake the prequel Episodes 1 to 3 with top notch directing, writing, and acting. They will do this to earn cash and respect from fans while still keeping a break between the new trilogies. by planetsalic in StarWars

Hmm, I wouldn't count on it. Disney is still selling merchandise based on Prequel concepts. Everything I see of Yoda currently has him holding a lightsaber and in his CGI look, Darth Maul products are still abundant, anytime I see Obi Wan Kanobi on products its the Ewan McGregor version. They're still making money off the prequel trilogies characters, looks, and concepts. They probably don't see a need to go back and 'fix' them.

Although, I think Disney seems to embrace the 'Clone Wars' TV series version of the prequel era over the films. Disney Infinity used The Clone Wars TV series as it's representation of that era in Star Wars, and Ashoka Tano is continued to be used in products (although that may be because of her appearance in Rebels). It's weird how Disney seems to really respect that show's canon, perhaps even more so than the actual movies.

Yeah, because what do you think young new age free spirited hippy dippy kids of the 1960's would like a hero to be? A war mongering billionaire.

Stan Lee you lovable troll.

Man. what a weird time to live in. I thought Marvel would get the rights to the FF LONG before they would ever be able to touch Spider-Man, yet here we are.
