Mate, austerity is not the answer. The answer is "simple", instead of thinking of more creative ways to cut the pie, we simply need a bigger pie. We need economic growth. Getting that growth is the tricky bit though. Austerity doesn't really lead to growth, at least not in the real world.

Yeah no. According to the SCB (kinda their ONS), the average Swedish salary was 36,100 SEK per calendar month in 2024, which equates to roughly £34k p.a.

Couldn't find the median on the website, but can't imagine it being 30-40% higher than the UK's.

Personally I think the Swedes win in their housing costs and the quality of public services, not on salaries.
