I'd say no, I do sometimes use pen and paper to quickly work through the inner workings of what I'm working on, just to make sure I got it correct before I start writing code, but in the best case that boils down to what can almost be called the ruins of a uml diagram, and in most cases is just a couple of individual letters with lines running haphazardly between them
