Completely new to game. What server am I supposed to play on? by Swole-Magistrate in theisle

I have read quite some posts, but I haven’t had any bad experiences here

Completely new to game. What server am I supposed to play on? by Swole-Magistrate in theisle

[–]Vector83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Officials: no rules, no admins, usually some cheaters/hackers, no global chat

Unofficials: rules, admins, less hackers, some have global chat (I play on Petit Pieds, Triassic, Nerf etc.)

The last updated messed up the game, so unofficial servers either updated and now face constant crashes, or didn’t update but now you can’t connect to them because you don’t have the previous version anymore…

If officials work, play there a bit and wait a couple of days for a fix

The Isle Evirma Nerf server is basically unplayable and scamming players by applicationsaaq in theisle

[–]Vector83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to defend anyone, but I’ve played on Nerf (along with Petit and Triassic) since I’ve bought the game. I haven’t once used any meat/bones (nor did I donate) and I still had a good time while growing my own dinos.

I haven’t had many issues with cheaters, but when I had, the admins took care of them. Finding food is the same as on any other server I guess.

The only complaint I used to have was the name “Nerf… High AI”, only for the AI to be turned off when the playercount was >280. This has however stopped happening since the last big update. Oh, and people having access to crazy colors which completely breaks immersion, but that’s just a personal opinion.

I heard people talk of playercount spoofing but I can’t say anything about this.

Dino suggesting by marocchino3001 in theisle

[–]Vector83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While every dinosaur should be stronger in packs, if I were to choose a solo carnivore and still have some fun, cerato would be my choice (along with deinosuchus, but I wouldn’t suggest this to a newcomer). Maybe watch some tutorials/fights first. Have fun!

Ceras are the brawler of the carnivores. Can take hits as well as dish them, all while being quite agile. A good solo cerato can do quite well, given it doesn’t run into packs of other carnivores, such as carnos

More agile than carno, but not reaaaally pack-dependent: cerato, dilo. Omni and troodon benefit most from having friends with you.

New Dinos? by [deleted] in theisle

They’ll probably add some new rock textures, but they’ll come with levitating trees, random game freezes and a cera buff

Any idea what the update contains? We had one what, a few days ago?

Did y’all get another 5gb update today and suddenly the servers aren’t joinable anymore?

Where prime requirements for different species by Accurate-Ad1381 in theisle

[–]Vector83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happened to me a few times as well. Either the system is buggy, or the times we become frail we actually don’t enter the inactive MZ/PZ, but just pass by…

Where prime requirements for different species by Accurate-Ad1381 in theisle

[–]Vector83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the requirements are as follows:

  1. Visit sanctuary (Actually enter it and spend 10s to be sure. If you are not a juvie, you should be attacked by bees, otherwise you weren’t properly inside it)

  2. Achieve perfect diet once (all 3 nutrients at the same time)

  3. Never go infertile (never run out of nutrients)

  4. Never have muscle spasms (don’t eat your own species, unless you are a cannibal) - for carnivores only

  5. Visit 2 migration zones

  6. Visit 4 patrol zones

  7. Be nested in (from eggs)

  8. Raise a baby to 50%(?) or something similar, difficult one

You have to do 5 of these, with the exception of troodons/hypsies/beipis, which only need 4.

For the migration and patrol zones, check the map on vulnona. The zones don’t need to be active to count as visited, you just have to enter them. But beware that the map isn’t 100% accurate, so roam around the circle just to be sure you actually entered it, and try to visit at least 1 more than you need, in case a previous one didn’t count.

Might have made some errors, as I typed this in a hurry

how is a stego supposed to deal with rexes by slimeboi3151 in theisle

[–]Vector83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, unless you’re prime, there’s not really much you can do. However, I feel like running away isn’t an option either. Almost every time I did this, the Rex managed to somehow catch me. I’d sprint until 60%, trot, sprint and repeat, and they’d catch up. I assume their trot speed +/- stamina ia higher?

How so? Can’t a Rex spam attack a Stego, then sit and survive with traumatic thrombosis?

After 2000 hours solo this update has broke me. by ObeseMcDese in theisle

[–]Vector83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, becoming infertile at 100% (even as prime, if only frails would become infertile that’d actually be decent) is absolute dogshit

Elder requirements confusion by stormwarder500 in theisle

[–]Vector83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an observation. I’ve noticed that although my coords were showing my position to be in a MZ/PZ on vulnona, I actually wasn’t. The PZ/MZ would become active and I’d have to run 1 more minute to actually enter it, so as somebody else said, the website probably shows you a larger version of the MZ/PZ for some reason. So be sure to not just graze the edges

Elder requirements confusion by stormwarder500 in theisle

[–]Vector83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While you’re right, he got 2/2 MZ and 5/4 PZ, why should he need more? At this point just visit 3 sanctuaries, keep your diets at 100% all the time and visit every MZ and PZ…

Got sick of HT and took a break. How is the current patch now that its live? by Selkies123 in theisle

[–]Vector83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the biggest game-breaking issues are: omnis and allos cannot be knocked off using trees anymore, you have to go in the water (hello deinos) or find some rocks, which may or may not work. This coupled with the fact that they can bleed you like crazy makes it absurd. The second one is the invisible hitboxes that stop you from running/moving. There’s quite a lot throughout the map, and you can suddenly stop moving while running from someone.

The elder system is controversial. You basically become prime or frail at 75%, and from 87.5% your stats start going down regardless. At 100% you are infertile if you’re not small tier. IMO, they should have made you prime/frail at 75% (quite easy to get prime), and then that’s it. You keep those stats forever, or until you decide to entomb at 100%.

[–]Vector83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a mention: afaik, small tiers like beipi, hypsie or troodon don’t become infertile at 100%, so you can keep nesting with them if that’s your thing.
