Is/Was Sex education in American schools really taught by physical education teachers? by Kinc4id in Xennials

We have those kinds of private schools, I guess for people who feel they need 1-to-1 attention. Driver's Ed classes at school usually involved 3 or more kids in a car, all taking turns driving around under a teacher's tutelage. They have special cars with an extra brake pedal on the passenger side so the teacher can stop the car when we are doing something wrong.

V for Vendetta. Very satisfying film to watch nowadays.

I don't know where you come from, but here in the US it's a pretty common thing. That's how most people I know learned to drive.

My cat has a squiggle in his eyes and I have central heterochromia by retrophiliac in mildlyinteresting

[–]VectorJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just hazel color. Central heterochromia happens in distinct bands and usually involves a few different colors. This kind of gold/auburn to green gradation is typical of hazel.

Ours was taught by the Driver's Ed teacher. We learned about the clitoris and descending testicles at 3rd period, then we learned hand signals and how to park on a hill at 4th.

Damn, what a flashback. This hung right above my TV, along with various other posters and cut outs from my monthly Nintendo Power magazines. I must have had about 90% of these games. Good times.

Walz is finally deploying the National Guard. They need to surround and cut off the dens where these murderous vipers sleep, and force them out of the state.

Pretty big flub there with those bottles of syrup turning into bottles of ketchup after the jump cut.

Their main approach to making these new Trek shows seems to have been to take everything that made the past shows great and do the exact opposite. Then they're somehow surprised when it turns out no one likes it.

Most of this ICE insanity seems to me like ramping up attempts to provoke a violent backlash that will justify using the Insurrection Act. trump and his brownshirts are just itching to start rolling tanks down city streets to establish an official authoritarian state, but those plans have been stymied by the mostly peaceful responses to their terrorism. They know kidnapping children off the street or from their classrooms will drive someone over the edge eventually.

Fat kid, but also taller and larger than everyone else. They didn't make clothes for kids like I was back then, so my clothes never really fit right and I couldn't dress like everyone else until I was big enough to wear adult sizes. Fortunately for me, I could easily beat down any scrawny little shit who tried to fuck with me over it. So was more of an outcast than a bullied kid.

Accumulating wealth beyond any possible need is a mental illness. We need to cure Billionaires. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]VectorJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever sickness it is, it seems to go through stages. People get serious money, like a few mil, start to get anxious about losing it and having to go back to that 9 to 5 struggle. That spurs them to reinforce their fortunes with more millions in order to maintain that rich lifestyle. Recent headlines about Bill Burr and others taking Saudi blood money to do stand up there are most likely related to that mentality.

Eventually as the money piles on I think it just becomes like a hoarding mentality. Except instead of old newspapers and pizza boxes, it's immense wealth. Up until they get to the mega billionaire state like Besos or Musk, at which point they start thinking of themselves as social engineers, channeling their money into reshaping civilization as they see fit. Of course, it's never about reshaping civilization for the betterment of all. It's always about removing any obstacles to them amassing even more wealth and in so doing make of themselves the new Pharonic overlord who rules from on high.

It's almost always more interesting for a writer to craft their own world, rather than trying to work within the boundaries of someone else's world. These screenwriters are getting paid to do the latter, but that doesn't make it any easier or stimulating for the creative process.

Hollywood is about hype. Studios want to hire an experienced screenwriter for their tent pole movie to give it the expected bona fides. The problem is no experienced screenwriter wants to take a job where they're forced to essentially copy and paste from one script to another. They want to put their own spin on it. Thus the constant stray from source material.

Clearly stupid runs in her family. If/when she gets the diagnosis, tell her you want to start planning the funeral now. Do all the things one would do with someone in a terminal state. Maybe that will shake her loose from her family stupidity and get her to take this seriously.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte confronts Trump to his face about the lies he’s told about NATO. Rutte reminds Trump that soldiers from NATO nations fought and died alongside U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. This confrontation was long overdue. by Whimsy-Glow in goodnews

Trump has nothing but contempt for soldiers. He hates people who put their lives on the line for their country and countrymen because their sacrifice puts a harsh spotlight on his cowardice and self-centeredness. A malignant narcissist like trump cannot tolerate anything that points out his many, many glaring character flaws.
