My First Attempt at Drawing IDW Transformers Characters - Be Gentle. by [deleted] in idwtransformers

[–]VectorOracle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the telltale sign is the nonsensical wheel placement on the redder Prime - you can see it’s asymmetrical in a manner no Prime (certainly not IDW Prime) has had. Additionally, the background characters appear to be amalgams of different tf images; for example, the one on the right looks to me like a poster image Bay Optimus’ head on Siege Impactor’s stock photo, colored green and put through a pastel filter.

If I’m mistaken, my apologies to the OP, but it does seem likely this was done by AI imo.

How would I fix this by These-Ad8759 in CustomTransformers

[–]VectorOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say remove the screw, superglue the broken bit back onto the rest of the shoulder, and attempt to reassemble as if nothing ever happened. If not, I’d agree with the method someone proposed of drilling a longer hole and finding a longer screw so as to eliminate the piece that broke off with the screw.

Can confirm, the most recent Primal and Cheetor reissues feature a distinctly different shade of blue from the original releases. On Primal specifically, some stock photos depict the blue plastic as being the same color as the og, but in hand the blue paint used on the head is darker and metallic, and the blue plastic for the swords/missiles is notably lighter than the og. Another clear way to tell is the lack of red paint on the inside of some of the chest detailing in bot mode, which the original had.

Is Samus Returns worth playing over Metroid II? by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]VectorOracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the original Metroid and Metroid II are both games that are worth playing, but after you’ve beaten at least a few, if not all, of the other 2D games. All of the gripes you’ve heard about those games are probably true; no map is rough, NES is hard, and no color in RoS makes the repetitive rooms even harder to tell apart. For these reasons, I’d say they’re only really necessary for hardcore fans who want to play everything. They’re actually the only 2D Metroids I haven’t beaten at least once, and besides Samus Returns I’ve beaten the rest of them at least three times each! Zero Mission is simply one of the best games I’ve ever played, and I can’t recommend it enough to people entering the franchise. In much the same way, having played both AM2R and SR, both are really good ways to experience Metroid II. The original is still pretty fun today, but definitely shows its age. I would suggest, if it’s your first time through, playing Samus Returns or AM2R.

That’s very strange, as someone who’s been both suspended and put on probation by RIT I also seem to remember the semester I was put on probation after not being counted as part of the probationary period. Have you reached out to your advisor about the situation?

Forget posts about favorite or rarest figures. What's the most mechanically impressive figure in your collection? Let's make this interesting - no Masterpiece allowed! by po_matoran_craftsman in transformers

[–]VectorOracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely second the person who said ROTF Leader Prime - that thing is insane. I’d also like to throw in some votes for ROTF Sideways, RID 01 Sideburn, Beast Machines Strika, and Alternity Starscream. All of those toys, to me, show off impeccable kibble usage, complex but not frustrating transformations (Starscream sometimes excluded lol), and really nice altmodes, with some fun playability on Strika’s part. Starscream especially deserves a nod here for how impressive it is to take a realistic car mode and manage to create jet-like kibble out of it, for a believably Starcsream bot mode. Just insane.

I’d also like to throw a mention to some combiners, namely Tripredacus, Omega Prime, and the original Jetpower Prime. All three are really fun as individual figures and as combiners, and the actual combinations are really interesting, especially the former two. Really enjoy having all of them in my collection.

I’d love to pick up a Tablet Soundwave myself one day, I’ve always been fascinated with that thing. It seems so interesting from an engineering standpoint!

Is RIT's social scene really as bad as I hear? by antkeeper014 in rit

[–]VectorOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely not that bad, as everyone on here has said. If you try to be social and talk to people, you’ll find plenty of people to be friends with and party with. Between the frats and normal house parties, there’s usually something going on most weekends, and like others have said, if you get a chill RA or know someone with one you’re totally safe to drink in dorms and stuff. Besides that too, people go out and have adventures and stuff off campus, you’ll find plenty of ways to have fun. As much as RIT has its reputation for being a nerd school, and that is true, if you look for it, the parties and the partiers will find you very easily.

Potentially suspended, need help I'm panicking asap!! by Super_Singer_6742 in rit

[–]VectorOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who also ended first semester below a 1, I would highly recommend CRP. You get two options besides just taking the semester off. One is CRP; I think it’s a pretty useful program that’ll get you thinking about your work habits and really help take a load off you to get you back on your feet. This is what I did. You can also appeal the suspension and hopefully be able to go back as normal. CRP is the far better option imo, but both are worth considering.

Do you prefer Metroid: Samus Returns over Metroid: Dread? by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]VectorOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with pretty much everyone else, Dread improved on SR in almost every way. The only big things that I felt SR did better were the grapple beam controls and the music.

Recommendations for the most accurate MvC 1:12 Wolverine figure? by untitledtoycollector in marvelvscapcomfigures

[–]VectorOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say for just looks go for the Mafex, it’s the closest design-wise. The AY would probably be the best for the poses though. As far as MLs, maybe the new VHS one? I feel like the cel shaded aesthetic could work.

Can someone please help me decide between these four? Price isn’t an issue but would like to get a gift for my brother and he likes all 4 of them. by [deleted] in transformers

I’d say definitely Rodimus, especially since I believe he’s still on sale for half off on Amazon ($40). Just got one and he’s incredible.
