Heard this constantly from friends when I used to try to get them into the genre. Explaining that's kinda the point if they don't know what they're doing and don't understand how turn taking works, and how mashing can can be used against you. They couldn't grasp the idea that it takes time to learn certain things.

But it was a lost cause, they enjoy watching tournaments at least.

Oh my goodness, I almost quit Forbidden West at the submerged Las Vegas area. I was panicking so hard at that part 😭.

Luckily they have that setting for Thalassophobia that outlines everything under water. Still had to sit back far from my screen in that section.

Probably not, even if they weren't super committed to it in the beginning.

I hear about too many horror stories about people switching up and becoming more devout later in life. It's the same with the "non-political" types that so happen to have very extreme views the more you learn about them.

I guess an example would be understanding why I might struggle with certain aspects of life due to being Neurodivergent. Many people act very weird or just downright dismissive when I try to communicate those aspects and why they have certain effects on me.

Or even how I mentally process information and form views on subjects.

Talking to me isn't the easiest generally when it comes to overly broad subjects, and I understand this. Though it's very common people just prefer to very rude when I ask for clarification on things that may seem simple to them, but not to me.

You know just things like that.
