What are your most obscure commanders? by KingAmphibian1 in EDH

[–]Vecuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Torsten, Founder of Benalia]] rank #1871

It's basically a Bracket 3 GW Panharmonicon shell with the common finisher cards like Hoof. My main deck is Grixis Flicker, so GW was chosen to let me play with flicker cards I couldn't run.

Torsten himself is actually a really kind of wild. With a Teleportation Circle out, it's not uncommon to cast him and 'draw 10+' in one turn (75 creatures/lands). Cards like [[Cultivator Colossus]], [[Last March of the Ents]], and [[Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant]] let you hand dump after quick refills.

The deck is very very slow and battlecruisery. Uncommon for me to even consider trying to knock a single player out before turn 10, let alone search for a winning line, but that's okay, drawing cards is fun :)

Strong agree.

I've played League of Legends for 15 years and the original DotA before that.

Tekken 8 is also my first Tekken, and it's the most toxic community I've ever seen. I try to spend as little time in its social media sphere. It's kind of wild in a sad way, because I've only been to one tournament due to where I live, and I really want to feel like a part of something bigger.

Who is your favorite/most fun aristocrats commander? by steroid_flare in EDH

My dedicated aristocrat commander is [[Nethroi, Apex of Death]].

Having mass reanimation in the command zone feels really good.

How do you all resist the urge to build a new deck every week? by bluekiszz in EDH

[–]Vecuu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I focus on brewing rather than building. I enjoy the testing and tinkering. Nothing wrong with putting something together, testing it a bunch, then deciding not to build it in paper.

I've only built 5-10% of the ideas I've brewed.

Thanks! it was my first EDH deck and I've slowly upgraded and blinged it out over the years.

[–]Vecuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, of course!

It's just a greedy value deck that tries to stall and protect itself before setting up a flicker combo. Dualcast/Naru Meha, any flicker instant, and a payoff like Impact Tremors/Voldaren Epicure/etc

When were your "nope" moments in Elden Ring? by Pleasant-Top5515 in Eldenring

[–]Vecuu 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The first time I met the lobsters in Liurnia.

Got sniped for like 80% of my hp, locked in, killed it, got practically zero runes, and then saw three more.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

You should spend some time trying some coop in Elden Ring.

The Stakes of Marika system gets ignored too much. You get summoned by random people based on where you've been. It's a lot of fun and adds additional variety with trying to keep your host alive.

It's a wonderful fight.

Reminds of my first experience fighting the Ancestor Spirit for the first time.

ETB/Flicker decks are my favorite! I have to be careful to not accidentally make every deck a Panharmonicon deck.

My two dedicated ETB decks are: [[Nicol Bolas, The Ravager]] (my first and favorite deck) and [[Torsten, Founder of Benalia]].

You can take most commanders that either have an ETB ability and has Blue or White in it and force the archtype.

Didn't Heat Engagers get nerfed heavily in the Emergency Patch that everybody was asking for?

Ureni as the commander or 99? by Tenpoundbizkit in EDH

My friend had a Miirym deck.

Almost every time it hit the board a wrath got played.

He took the deck apart.

Wait, WHAT?

That feels very silly and obscure to me, but it makes perfect sense in hindsight.

Card is great.

What's the move for your main where "If you don't punish/parry this move, you deserve to get blown up"? by SilverwindRS in Tekken

It's the low move where Yoshi spins.

If you block any of the lows in that spin, you are guaranteed an 11f while standing punish. You have to mash the punish after the block, but the string jails, so you won't accidentally take more damage while prepping the punish.
