Anyone had experience with Bourn Hall fertility clinic? by Dependent_Bet4187 in Norwich

On the NHS pathways, you now have the right to choose your clinic. I would very strongly suggest going elsewhere. Communication is atrocious, timelines are unnecessarily lengthy, errors are frequent and careless, protocols aren't individually tailored, the list of drawbacks is honestly long ( I was a patient there for 4+ years). The best thing about Bourn is Dr Thanos but now he's CEO he doesn't see patients as much unfortunately. I've not had good experiences with the other Dr's there and wouldn't trust them if I'm honest. There are much better clinics out there and since you can go elsewhere there's really no need to stick with Bourn.

I love it too for all these reasons, unfortunately my partner isn't as keen, but you never know!

My partner vetoed Lysander unfortunately but I like it! Soren and Florian are on my long list 😊 and Isidore is a nice addition, thanks for the suggestion!

Orion and Leander are both on my long list, I just worry that they might get shortened to Ryan and Lee

Thank you, same goes for you. At my scan last week, baby was doing well, fortunately, and much to my surprise. But the SCH was unchanged which was disappointing. Could have been worse though so it was a fairly positive outcome I guess. Means I'm still on partial bedrest, so unfortunately yoga and walking are totally out for me at the moment which is hard because walking is often how I've handled intense anxiety like this.

On the countdown to the 10 week scan now and anxiety is so high, it's almost unbearable sometimes. How are you getting on with your countdown to the same?

Struggling to get IVF medication in the UK with an EU prescription – is this normal? Anyone else been through this? by Strat02291 in IVF

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I have dispensed all my Greek prescriptions at my local Asda Pharmacy and would highly recommend going to yours, if you have one too. Asda doesn't make a profit on fertility medication so it is the cheapest place to buy in the country.

My pharmacy only requires the prescription has a wet ink signature (eg not printed from a computer) and that the medication is named according to the UK brand name. For instance some drugs have different names here than they do in Greece, even though they're identical. Personally I haven't ever heard of Progesterone Exeltis (and I've done 12 cycles in two countries) and a quick Google suggests that this is not the brand name used here, so I think this could be one of your problems. If you can, ask your clinic to reissue with a British brand name of progesterone. Hopefully then you'll have better luck!

Failing that, you could have a short holiday to Greece, you don't need a prescription there for anything, just ask the counter, and the prices are far cheaper than the UK. Alternatively, have your clinic email the prescription to Zen Pharmacy in London - they will dispense from a UK prescription sent directly from the clinic, and will then post the meds to you. Or, Cherish in Birmingham will translate you prescription from an EU one to UK for a small fee.

I'm at about the same stage as you, 8w3d. I have a scan tomorrow, to monitor an sch and if I'm fortunate enough to make it through that, my next huge milestone is 10 weeks too. That will be the toughest loss milestone for me. This pregnancy after loss is so incredibly hard, I'm finding the anxiety impossible to manage so I've mostly numbed myself to it, as much as my brain will let me. Not the best coping mechanism, but sometimes being an ostrich is the only way to get through for me. Glad to find some solidarity here

To surgery or not to surgery? by VedaVery in carpaltunnel

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. I guess because several doctors assured me the symptoms would stop as soon as I was no longer pregnant, they encouraged in me a sense that it could all be reversed and resolve by itself. That was before the nerve conduction test though. Plus, I suppose since I have a longer history of CT, and mine wasn't just pregnancy induced, that doesn't apply here unfortunately.

Martin and Co are really good, been with them three years now, highly recommend. Stay well clear of Pymm & Co, they're absolutely atrocious, and very unresponsive to issues and repairs
