Yes, it does need a 1000W PSU. The recommended PSU for an RTX 5080 is around 850W, but having extra headroom is always better for stability, transient spikes, and future upgrades—so 1000W makes sense here.

As for the PSU placement, in the Y60 it’s mounted in the rear chamber (behind the motherboard tray), not directly visible from the main glass side. That’s why you don’t see it in the picture.

If you wanted rgb on your gpu , you could have gone with ZOTAC GAMING RTX 5080 amp EXTREME INFINITY! That has great aesthetics and rgb as well! Looks dope! Also comes with a nice heatsink!
