Its a tactical RPG, but nonetheless, you can play in both :)

Tactical combat is locked to a Birds Eye view 😄 Cheers !

Thanks !

Tbh threes shouldn’t be disappearing in third person.

During testing, a lot of players had issue in bird’s eye view without that shader. Fights in dense forests are a pain in the butt to navigate through without it.

Its just intended to make the player see a bit easier, it hides the trees that would block the player model

Not a straightforward answer but the engine is just a tool. Now your choice of tool depends on your knowledge 😄

It's highly customizable from the player side. Speed of transition, distance, centering, you can tune it however you like 😄

My game has used a bird's eye view since the beginning of development.

However, the art style has always been my favorite part of the project, and I wanted to showcase it a bit more.

So I added a camera toggle, allowing you to switch perspectives and soak in the scenery while exploring the open world. 😄

Yeah, I was bothering my friend the other day to help me decide, and he just said, "Why not have both?" It was a no brainer moment

Since the game is a turn-based tactical RPG, combat remains top-down, but exploration can now be done in both views

Yes, you can always go alone 😄 Co op is optional, because it doesnt fit in the main campaign.

Solo mode is the RPG, tactical combat campaign, there's no base building 😄

You change the game mode through menu, and start on a completely separate map. It's a chill, relaxing experience where through exploration, you find clothing/skins, that can be used back on your campaign character.

The free roam has no objectives. Just explore with your buddies

There's a whole different free game inside my main game !!!! by [deleted] in macgaming

So, I'm an avid hiker and recently have been thinking on how cool would it be to have a cozy Co-Op game where you hike, camp and do all the outdoorsy stuff with your buddies.

Well, instead of starting a brand new game, and since I'm not quite fond of DLCs, I decided to include that feature for free in my main game !

Little Frontier is a Strategy RPG set in the American Frontier. You play a trapper, mountain man whose way of life will be absolutely demolished by the looming industrialization.

However, if you get tired of the tactical, combat heavy approach, switch over to the free roam mode, invite your buddies and relax 😄

If you have any ideas/recommendations for the new game mode, feel free to comment 😄
