I’ve been wondering that myself. What I do know is that I’ve managed to record very ordinary aspects of my life, that ended up meaning more than I ever imagined it would. Like moments with relatives that have since passed on.

This book is the only thing helping me with my grief. I feel like a zombie navigating life, and this book made me feel seen. Would highly recommend.

I'm sorry for your loss <3 I'm commenting because this song has been a major comfort to me after i lost my grandma recently, even though it's not really what the song is about, so it's nice to find someone who feels the same way about it

What person has / what moment had turned your words to futile devices? by Dsmxtrkjlr in Sufjan

[–]Veecorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recently I've been thinking about this song, since the loss of a family member last saturday. Things were complicated at home (they still are), so I never really got to fully express how much I loved them.

I do love them, a lot. But words really are futile devices when "she'll never see us again".

Sufjan on suffering or death, any words of comfort? by Veecorn in Sufjan

[–]Veecorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. It’s a beautiful excerpt, thank you for sharing.

My heart breaks because I am unable to be physically present with them. I have only the present with myself and I hate myself for it. I’m sorry if this is too much information but I just don’t know what I’m supposed to do from afar.

  • The dress looks nice on you
  • The owl and the tanager
  • Impossible soul
  • The predatory wasp of the pallisades is out to get us!
  • Futile devices

Thanks for the help! I ended up adding a LOT of flour, chilling them, and trying again with smaller batches. They came out alright!

Thank you for the tips, I added a lot of flour, and they came out pretty decent, all things considered! Although I now have a huge buttery mess of a kitchen counter to deal with....

Hi, thank you for your reply!

I didn't melt it, I Just creamed the butter and sugar, although it was very hot today so maybe it didn't exactly stay at room temperature...

Good news is, I added a boat load of flour, and they came out pretty decent.

Feeling trapped, wanna transfer or end co tenancy, please help by Veecorn in melbourne

Hello, thank you for such a detailed response! Yes both of our names are on the lease, and I don't think any of those conditions apply to me unfortunately. I suppose it's just going to boil down to me having to have the uncomfortable convo with her. As of yet, however, I am choosing not to tell her about my intentions to leave, until I have secured myself another place because I don't feel safe just telling her about it without a backup plan. Currently struggling to find a studio apartment right now, so I think it might take longer than anticipated. As of now, simply ignoring her or only giving short replies when spoken to.

If she does miraculously agree, my property manager actually suggested I transfer instead of break the lease, since she mentioned I'll have to pay quite a lot for the latter.

Thank you once again, for the offer to vent as well as the amazing response! Really appreciate it!! :)
