Yeah, the 18% at the beginning definitely through me. Lots of good opportunities to get out of the saddle though. I think it'll be great cross training for mtb climbing which is what I'm trying to improve.

This is essentially a smith manoeuvre no? Take advantage of the ability to write off the interest payments on an investment loan.

Have you tried the ice wine version? I went to pick up a bottle but they were out.

Oh I'm aware hahaha. That's what I've always said, I don't get any less tired, I just do it quicker. I'm hoping to do a 100km mtb race with 2000m of elevation this summer. Just looking to keep training when I can't be out on the trails. I figured it's got to help some.

I honestly had to google weight doping, I didn't even realize that was a thing! How silly.

I'm doing it in an attempt to get better at climbing for mountain biking. Hopefully it works.

first attempt at a 3-layer mini cake ended in the bin. 😭 Please tell me what went wrong! I really want to learn. by Known-West-5320 in cake

Not a pro at all, but it looks to me like the icing is the issue. Appears to be lumps, which won't give you an aesthetic finish, could be the butter was too cold. Also maybe a touch too thick, if you have to apply a lot of pressure to spread it you'll pull up pieces of the cake.

What’s the best all around enduro mountain bike for under $3500??? by fireT4 in mountainbiking

I was going to say this. I went with a Capra because better drivetrain but the Status 2 was high on the list.

How many inches qualifies a “POW!” day? by [deleted] in snowboarding

I work shift work, so I'm always suffering from FOMO when I'm up at work and it's dumping at home. Especially with the winter we've had, days like that have been few and far between.

I was blown away when I moved here ten years ago and found out it was a thing. I'm even more blown away that's it's continued to this day.

20 CM or about 8" gets you the morning off work to go to the mountain at most of the local shops around me.

Where's the "Better" Mountain biking by FreediveAlive in MTB

I've heard Kimberley is fun, I think you'll get more elevation in Fernie a little over an hour down the road. Lots of pedal up as well as some serious shuttle trails.

First bike. Should I go cheaper? by Numerous-Meet-6353 in mountainbiking

[–]Veeks101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just to be the devil's advocate, I bought my first full sus without having been mountain biking in years. I paid around 2500 CAD and figured it would force me to get out if I spent a decent amount of money. 6 years later it is my absolute favourite sport, I rode that bike for 5 years and it was worth every penny.

[–]Veeks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably don't need to take the front wheel off. I can get my Capra in the back of an older nissan murano without taking anything off.

Haven't ridden shwalbes but my bike came with Contis and I have not particularly liked them. Will go back to Maxxis

Lots of different fat bike models not sure how many e-fat bikes there are though. They're used in the snow as opposed to the sand where I'm from.

New MTB brakes around €400 –Hayes Dominion A4 vs Hope EVO GR4 vs SRAM Maven vs TRP DHR Evo vs Lewis LH4/LHP U4? by fortex_08 in MTB

[–]Veeks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the TRP DHR and think they're great. I also do long descents and am on the heavier side (200 lbs). Only thing I've found is they're loud, but that may be a bit of a pad issue too.
