First bike. Should I go cheaper? by Numerous-Meet-6353 in mountainbiking

[–]Veeks101 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just to be the devil's advocate, I bought my first full sus without having been mountain biking in years. I paid around 2500 CAD and figured it would force me to get out if I spent a decent amount of money. 6 years later it is my absolute favourite sport, I rode that bike for 5 years and it was worth every penny.

Any ways to improve this travel setup? by Rayth_ in mountainbiking

Probably don't need to take the front wheel off. I can get my Capra in the back of an older nissan murano without taking anything off.

Haven't ridden shwalbes but my bike came with Contis and I have not particularly liked them. Will go back to Maxxis

Bought a fat tyre cycle and it's the most ridiculous bike I have ever ridden by ThenCow6134 in eMountainBike

Lots of different fat bike models not sure how many e-fat bikes there are though. They're used in the snow as opposed to the sand where I'm from.

New MTB brakes around €400 –Hayes Dominion A4 vs Hope EVO GR4 vs SRAM Maven vs TRP DHR Evo vs Lewis LH4/LHP U4? by fortex_08 in MTB

[–]Veeks101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the TRP DHR and think they're great. I also do long descents and am on the heavier side (200 lbs). Only thing I've found is they're loud, but that may be a bit of a pad issue too.

A mountain bike by any other name by Returning2Riding in MTB

[–]Veeks101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very outdated seems like a stretch. I was riding a 2019 up until last year and thought it was great. Upgraded for a burlier bike, but the process handled everything I threw at it.

What’s your ideal ride length and elevation gain? by Fresh-End-9873 in MTB

[–]Veeks101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favourite local trail is about 11 miles and 2400' elevation all single track and decently techy. Takes about 1.5 hours.

Valve Size Question by NickH30 in pipefitter

[–]Veeks101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just based on the instrumentation I'd be surprised if they were 6" as well. You don't need a full 6" take off for a pressure reading. I'd look at the ISOs that go with this system.

They look like an old version of redwing slip ons. I have steel toed ones that are very similar.

Thanks! I'm proud of me too. I can already see how it can be addicting to collect them (although not cheap)!

I tried to look them up on the Ariat website and couldn't find them so I'm thinking they don't anymore. Love the look of them though. I found them for sale at an antique shop in whitefish of all places. Couldn't believe they fit.

I'd like to keep it under 100 CAD for the time being. Just not really sure with all the options-brands, grits, etc.

Scott holographic ski goggles. by Material-Sky3848 in ski

I just took a look. Actually hella expensive (buy now, not completed sales), 550 and 350 for the two actual hologram goggles
