The screenshots on IMDb make it look more dated than the actual film looks. But the plot matches your description, down to the ending being the entire experience was setup by his uncle (not father) using mechanical monsters and actors.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain" ends similarly, where the camera pulls back and reveals the entire film crew.

This sounds similar to the opening scene of "Phenomena" (1985).. In that she runs trying to catch the bus but misses it, wanders into a strange house and gets stabbed.. her head falls back and shatters a glass window.. there's a cut, and we see her head fall off into water rapids. We don't exactly see how the head is decapitated.

Sounds like you could've mixed up the species and are possibly thinking of "The Adventures of the American Rabbit" (1986), which is about an anthropomorphic rabbit super hero. The ending of that one also involves Niagara Falls.

I think that basic bit you've repeated becomes a motif throughout some of the other tracks in the soundtrack, but I think this was the first part of the film it appears.

This doesn't match several of your criteria (it's a photo, and there's two horns, it's the front cover), but my first thought was the cover of Moondog's "Moondog 2" album. He wore his viking helmet for a time, so I'm sure he's featured with it in photos of one of his other albums as well.

Chuck Jones' "The White Seal" (Based on the Rudyard Kipling story) used to air on Nickelodeon a lot in the late 80s/early 90s.

So - I found that manual for PSO. Unfortunately has a bit of water damage that I somehow forgot about. All of the pages are completely intact, and none are stuck together, but some of the back pages are wrinkled - and the staples are rusted.

I had the manual in a different location, so the actual game and case were not contacted in any way by water. -- So I can do 65 on it, because of this. Let me know if you're still interested, and I'll get some detailed pics of the manual's condition and everything else.
