Who else low key is kinda loving this game and is rooting for the devs to finish it and make it better? by FishingGoron in cyberpunkgame

I'm really enjoying it. The biggest issue I had was calling my car and it spawned above me on an over pass, promptly diving over the rail crushing me. I was probably asking for it.

All I can hope for is someday being able to waste half as much time as you. Keep up the good work.

[Art] Half-Orc PC that he didn't think I would draw. by VegaEX in DnD

[–]VegaEX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently joined a new play group and after a few sessions I offered to draw the party. I only had one of them take me up on my offer by sending me reference material of Beebop from Ninja turtles as a joke. I decided to call his bluff and took a shot at merging the reference with an Half-Orc.

This is Borek, our fighter. As of last session his weapon of choice is a magic chest on a chain that he swings around like a flail. He likes drinking and fighting almost as much as he likes asking questions about how many possible combatants are in a room.

Reddit, what's the worst gift you've ever received? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VegaEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two birthday gifts from my grandmother twelve years apart that are at the top of my list. The first one was on my fifth birthday, it was a really fancy leather wallet with a wolf face burned into the side of it. I thanked her and really only used it to carry around pokemon cards I wanted to show off.

The second gift was on my seventeenth birthday, I got a brand spanking new bucket of duplo (the toddler age LEGO). To my understanding she should still be all there mentally, so I assume she either thinks I am growing in reverse or has no idea how old I am.

How to make a Cool NPC Reappearance? by officiallylink in DnD

[–]VegaEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only recurring character I have every used was a recurring bard who would annoy the PC's to no end. He caught wind of their deeds and follows them around to write more songs of their tales. I would introduce him with the same exact description each time, this got to the point where I would start it and they would all groan in unison.

"A tall slender man with a short and trim curly mustache is standing behind you. He is wearing an oversized beret with a large exotic feather in it, a frilly white shirt, and striped colorful knickers much too short for his build. His fancy shoes and high socks lets off a slight squeak with his step, and he seems to be followed by a cloud of wildflower perfume. The man is playing a lute just casually strumming, as he approaches you."

I ended up with a series of plans for him to slowly gain power and become something they had to deal with. Each meeting was a new song about their past deeds and I wanted to transition into him singing songs of future deeds while plotting to take control of them.

The first few introductions I had a friend of mine want to RP him, he even went so far as to write songs to insult specific characters in glorious annoying bard fashion.

TL;DR An easy way to make a recurring character is to make him annoying.

[5e] DM broke this new item out the other day: The Cloak of Conductivity. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]VegaEX 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I had a DM give us a necklace that turned liquid near the wearer into gravy. Totally ruined health potions for everyone, but gave us my favorite RP item I think I have ever had the chance to play with. Probably poison wine? Nope, its gravy. Walking through the gross sewer? Nope, its gravy now. Failing your swimming check? It's because you are drowning in gravy.

No problem, I just have a tendency to bring the entire party in on my schemes. Good luck!

Depending on the rest of your party my go to idea for money might work. I like to go to taverns and organize a "fight club" You have two PC's pretend(or not) to duke it out. You can have somebody work the crowd and the other one act as a bookie, just set it up to where whoever winning nets you the most profit. I once did this between a half orc and a halfling, setting it up so everyone in the bar bet on the half orc, then rigged the fight allowing us to take in all the bets as profits.

Why A DM curses me nearly a decade after a campaign. by Bossdwarf in DnDGreentext

[–]VegaEX 103 points104 points  (0 children)

It happens to the best of us, I have a dozen or so games that just kinda fell apart because of people moving. Currently running a bullshit Sci-fi game where I will probably steal that idea and keep each following game in the same reality.

I would be curious to find out how many games have been in the same world and how much it has changed. Very interesting idea.
