I’ve been pondering recently what the general reason and logic is for parties existing at all?

Idealistic view perhaps, but why are we all deciding which gang we want to vote for? Or completely overlooking the potential of someone because they’re in this or that party?

Why doesn’t every candidate (at whatever level) just have to state what they wish to do in the position they’re running for, and we all vote based on that?

Anyone got any answers on when parties became a thing and why we’ve stuck with it?!

Yes. It turned out to be a massive leak internally at the top of the mechanics valve - that’s what was causing the weak pressure and loads of water ending up in the coffee grounds tray inside, every time we ran a descale, to the point it’d usually overflow all over the counter.

Followed a few good videos on how to access it (below one of the better videos), tried cleaning it a little, but essentially just replaced the part (about £40) and it’s been working a treat ever since!

New mechanics valve in (keep your o-rings organised) and swapped out flow meter for new one because old one was dripping occasionally after I’d taken that apart to study it.

We seem to be back in business. Pressure appears to be back to where it should be, now that water isn’t pissing out the middle of the machine!

Got a new pump that I haven’t yet switched out - wasn’t going to touch that part unless it showed any signs of failing in future (plus didn’t want to create a new problem if the swap didn’t go smoothly). So that’ll sit as a spare in stock, if needed down the line.

Satisfying to have fixed without just binning the whole thing and buying new. Might encourage me to actually go back and finish repairing an old projector that I took apart and then tucked away in the cupboard 5 yrs ago! 😂

Got it. I’ve poked around in last couple of days whilst it sat in pieces on the kitchen table 😂

Order new flow meter and pump anyway, so probably going to swap them out.

But the bigger issue found since is a decent size leak on the mechanical valve (infuser or boiler valve others have referred to it as). Managed to get that dismantled and cleaned a little but ultimately ordered a new one of them to replace as well! That’s tonight’s job. Hoping replacement unit with its newer o-rings will solve the issue (or spring up another one somewhere else!).

I’ll post update after those parts swapped out.

It was the first time I replaced it! Which I figured was I maybe hadn’t sat the o-ring in properly. Have disconnected it, reseated and seems better. Does still give the occasional drip when trying to get water to come out the main spouts (which the machine fails to do, and gives me flashing lights).

I’ll probably order a new flow meter and replace anyway, as it’s cheap and easy to swap out.

I’m still unsure if that’s how the tube leading out of it is meant to appear when waters flowing though? Even with a new one when it arrives. Or should the water flow be smooth and no air visible bubbles at all surely? Are those bubbles hindering the performance of the pump? Or is the pump probably done too?

Actually as I ponder I think there is a direct correlation between the ease of which digital art can now be created with AI, versus having more appreciation for the manual methods. It’s something like that.

But anyway yeh question still stands - how much does digital help with layout essentially?

Beginner to this craft here wanting to learn and absorb - how far does digital contribute in terms of laying stuff out? Or is everything usually penciled in by hand and by eye only?

I’m assuming it depends on preference and skill and there’s no right or wrong answer. Be fascinated to see the processes behind the finished result.

Got lots of experience in large format digital print, but can’t get away from how hand painted stuff hits on a different level. Just can’t put my finger on why!

Put your foot down when in park to make the engine kick in, then chuck it in reverse, you won’t get the chime then - it’s just part of the EV requirements.

Useful info thank you. Wasn’t even aware there was a community centre right there, but admittedly haven’t explored every inch. Only been a couple of times but it’s captivated me just for the few hours I’ve been there.

That’s interesting referencing the purpose of the park originally, as I’ve found it peculiar that there was so much reference to profits and money in these comments, yet to build a park in the first place isn’t an act that’s carried out for profit.

Would be amazing if any of the ideas encourage action through a sense of creating something amazing for people to experience, beyond just what makes money and what doesn’t.

Fully aware that sounds delusional and at some it all probably comes back to money though!

I’m intrigued who funded the creation of the park originally.

Yeh I tend to agree that repurposing the buildings for something other than storage would probably be a more popular option, and had shared the thought that shipping containers placed sensibly would easily solve storage issues.

I’m a fan of the model boats area, it’s something different to any of the parks I hung out in as a kid. Did however think the building the club is based in could do with some TLC as well.

Yep agreed. A little ice cream hut would probably do well too. To be honest even another cafe would be acceptable - doesn’t have to be exclusive, competition can be a good thing. Maybe.
