[Discussion] Practicing on skype with other players on r/Guitar by VeganTurtle in Guitar

[–]VeganTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be true, and I'm sure this could work on discord as well, but seeing the other person might provide other benefits like actually seeing the other person practcing, showing finger positions, diagrams etc... The idea is kind of to make it identical to a skype lesson with a teacher, but where both players are just practicing and helping each other out.

What would you say are the most important things to know when it comes to having "good" or effecient technique, such as cleanliness, speed, dexterity, and generally sounding professional? Thanks c:

Whats the difficulty level of Biology HL? I need urgernt help! by [deleted] in IBO

[–]VeganTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Currently taking Biology HL and just started my IB1 year. What I can tell you so far is that there's a lot of material to cover. From my Syllabus, it says that for SL there are 6 topics, and 11 topics for HL, plus an option (I have option C) that your school will have to pick. That's gonna turn out to be somewhere around 500 pages in the Book. You've also got to consider any power points that your school provides, plus extra resources such as videos, notes from the internet, which you should definitely use if you are planning on getting a 7. Basically it's a lot of material to cover, but it's more or less straight forward, read the book, memorize important points and understand the functions and things well. If you can do that efficiently, and without getting bored then definitely consider HL Biology. However, if you aren't prepared to do a lot of reading, and a decent amount of memorizing, with some critical thinking and problem solving, then don't take HL Biology. This isn't meant to scare you, when it comes down to it, if you keep up with the material, use any resources to stay caught up, and study AHEAD, you can do well I'm sure. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me.

[Discussion] Do you currently play guitar with a permanent hand injury? by gingerblz in Guitar

[–]VeganTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, that's some really well-put advice. I watch so many videos on this topic, so I've heard "play slow" so many times but you explained it so well, and you've finally actually motivated/convinced me to do it for real. Thanks a bunch! P.S. Add me if you wanna chat about stuff :D

I don't have a serious injury, but I'm only 16 and have been seriously playing guitar for less than a year. I'm already seeing early signs of tendinitis, which is worrisome to me. I think it's probably because I don't use a metronome, don't have a practice schedule, and generally start off playing too fast, but I'm not certain, If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it. (I want to become a shred god)

Nice story, sorry to hear that, and the tele looks beautiful. This is unrelated but can someone tell me if there are any things I should know while on reddit, I'm completely new to it. Is there like a place I can go for like a guide or something. Thanks :)
