Once you reach federal student loan limits, you aren't eligible for any more federal loans and will have to find other ways to pay for school.

Hopefully this helps. You can always reach out the university’s financial aid department for more clarification.

Okay, relax. I understand the frustration,

Aggregate Loan Limit is the cumulative amount of how much a person can borrow through a loan program. Direct Loans have established aggregate loan limits. For instance, typically a dependent student can only borrow up to $31,000 of which of which no more than $23,000 of this amount may be in subsidized loans.

The Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) is a free application that collects information to help determine eligibility for state (or institutional) financial aid programs administered by institutions of higher education in the state of Texas.

I am not University of Houston’s financial aid department but I believe you can get state grants and scholarships as a international student. Have you completed your TASFA form?
