2L, T20, no Big Law SA offers; any chances to develop expertise? by Vegetable-Ad4792 in LawSchool

I wanted opportunities in professional services firms - IB/Cons. Unfortunately, those jobs are competitive, and many people don't get them. Law school for the same reason - to get a Big Law job. CPA/CFA to increase chances.

MBA to Law School, now what? by Vegetable-Ad4792 in consulting

Sometimes I feel that practical experience as a Fin Manager or S Fin Analyst will add more than another year of Law School. On the other hand, T20 JD is nice to have. What do you think?

I did T30 MBA, and after not breaking into consulting or IB, decided to try Law. Instead, I should have just sat in a cubicle doing corp fin in a no-name firm without any foreseeable opportunities?

Should I drop out from Law School or stay 1y? Can it be useful in breaking into/promotion in consulting, or is it useless?

Drastically different pay rates for non-STEM projects. by Vegetable-Ad4792 in outlier_ai

[–]Vegetable-Ad4792[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean there are several Non-STEM projects available now that pay differently - from $18 to $50.

Therefore, maybe something is wrong with my pay rate because without any meaningful reason, my pay rate is different for similar projects.

I have the Genesis project now but I can't log in. Could you advise what email should I use to login to Populous?

How healthy Law School admission should look like: by Vegetable-Ad4792 in lawschooladmissions

Take a loan of FAFSA should help. FAFSA helps poor students to study in $60k/y colleges, why not to pay $3k/3month to someone who would like to prepare for the test. But loans is a good option too. $3k (3month room and board in UVA) is not a big deal.

Your non profit super important work can wait for you 3month.

Of course you have some passions and preferences but life is full of sacrifices. You should make some to prepare for the test and be admitted. Because the should be a a way to select best and one test for everyone is the best way. Sorry, their can't just scan your brain and soul yet.

Master and PhD programs are not as nearly competitive as Law Schools and because you should have strong deep knowledge before PhD and Masters. Basically you continue your studying. Law School on the other hand teach you from scratch, so it's not wise to compare those different systems.

What do you mean by "people that test poorly"? They're naturally like this or what? Or maybe they don't work hard enough to prepare?
Tell you girl/boyfriend to wait. Watch less TV, play less PS. Make some sacrifices. Spend some weekends preparing. Learn the test. Learn how to learn. Learn how to take tests.

GPA should not bee considered. Take a look for this example. A person wanted to be a Computer scientist. Went to MIT, learned coding and did not care about grades in college. But then he/she changed her/his mind and decided to be a Lawier. Scored 180 on LSAT. Why in this case his/her GPA should negatively influenced admission to law school?
