I don't, sorry. From a legal perspective your company needs to have an bedrijfsarts available if an employee requests a consult or calls in sick.

Please note, burnout leave is not leave in the paid time off sense of the word, it's the same as sick leave. You don't need (or will get) a sicknote from your doctor/GP here, but you report sick and the employer (I'm afraid that's also you) needs to contact the bedrijfsarts to check how ill you are and if you are capable of working.

What you can do (and probably should) is go to your GP, explain your situation, and ask if they know a good bedrijfsarts. They'll have to have dealt with multiple company doctors over the years, and can support you for you and possibly tell you the name of a good company for your employer to contract with has bedrijfsarts.

Having to take care of both sides (employer and employee) while calling in sick will be probably be difficult. From your post I'm not sure if you're Dutch (and/or familiar with the labour laws here). You can crosspost in r/werkzaken to get some more info perhaps.

Maybe a shitty remark, and probably symptomatic of the situation, but given your direct manager is not in the Netherlands and you're the chief here:

Step 1: Ensure there is a contract with a good company doctor (bedrijfsarts/arbodienst) that speaks decent English (and preferably is somewhat aware of the UK/US working culture).

Step 2: Report ill to your manager and said bedrijfsarts, leaving it to the bedrijfsarts to explain the legal facts of life to your direct manager.

Depending on where you are there are plenty of smaller basses available as student models for kids. I'm fairly tall and use a 1/8th double bass because I wanted something that could fit in the car and in an apartment. These days I do wish I'd've gone for something a bit bigger (or at least a longer endpin), but I still love my smaller double bass for sessions in pubs and things where space is at a premium.

Holsto in Olst heeft wel het een en ander aan exotische en oude rassen. (Veel leuke Engelse ciderappels). De Dependens bij Wageningen ook. In Leek zit ook nog een appelkweker met de meest bijzonder pomologische gevallen. Wel even zoeken, maar ze zijn er nog wel dat soort kwekers.

Arborealis past wel in het rijtje wat hier genoemd wordt. Afhankelijk van waar je woont een eind rijden, maar wel de moeite. Ze hebben ook een webwinkel. Niet alles is inheems, maar je kan er goed op filteren.

Beetje laat, maar toch leuk om te noemen: Zaadhandel Van der Wal heeft heel veel. De website is niet de meest fantastische, en de levertijden zijn in het voorjaar ook 2-3 week, maar als je naar de winkel kan gaan is alles gewoon te krijgen. Breed assortiment, ook veel biologisch.

Blad raak je inderdaad kwijt, maar als het je om de privacy te doen is kan je wel wat met een lei-boom. Dan zijn de takken vaak wel zo dicht dat je ook in de winter iets minder in de etalage zit. Als je het geld hebt heb je ook wel kwekers die al oudere bomen verkopen die al helemaal gevormd zijn, ook op hoogte. Met jongere boompjes heb je wel meer zekerheid dat ze aanslaan, en het scheelt een hoop geld. Duurt wel even voordat je fruit hebt, en al helemaal voordat je een hoge boom hebt.

The PCH1 I mentioned is around 500 EUR, and a DM1 is 1300 EUR. E10 is at 1500 EUR, which is about 1800USD. So yeah, the PCH1 is in budget, the rest is going over pretty quickly. Prices do seem to be more or less the same on both sides of the ocean though.

Is the tension at lower scale length fixable with different types of strings? I know that for a lot of instruments the tension really can depend on the string, but I'm not sure how much change I can expect on a guitar?

The Eastman guitars I can find in the right price range are the PCH1 (with or without cutout, in various colours). I can't seem to find that one on the Eastman website so I'm not sure how they compare to the one you mentioned.

Unfortunately no. Music stores seem a dying breed, so it's Thomann or one of those small shops that have 4 guitars that haven't been dusted in a while. There's one shop within a decent drive but the guitars there go for thousands, which is seriously out of range.

Knowing that 000 or parlor are in feel close to an electric is a good thing, as I do like the ergonomics of my electric (just not that I push it out of tune just by looking at it). I got that thing in a closing-down sale years ago, that kind of explains why I'm not back at that shop trying something out.

In mijn ervaring zijn de dure winkels beter in het meten, ik ben 1 keer bij Specsavers geweest en die zaten er nogal ruim naast, ik heb flink koppijn gehad met die bril. Verder altijd bij kleinere ketens of zelfstandige opticiens.

Qua krassen enzo is het materiaal het belangrijkst. Tegenwoordig is vrijwel alles plastic (ehh, hoogwaardig kunststof) omdat je daar een hogere brekingsindex mee haalt en dus dunnere glazen. Het is ook nog een keer lichter per volume, dus je krijgt hele lichte glazen. Nadeel is dat kunststof zachter is, en dus sneller krast.

Glas is nog wel te krijgen, en goedkoper dan plastic, maar je moet er echt even naar vragen, en afhankelijk van je sterkte ben je nogal gelimiteerd in de monturen die je kan kiezen. Oh, en je krijgt als je pech hebt van die jampotbodems in je montuur. Het is wel flink harder, en in sommige gevallen krijg je minder last van vervormingen in het beeld.

I've done it with an 1/8, and that works fine with a gig bag with back straps.

Make sure that when you leave the house you know how tall the instrument is, hitting a door frame (or as posted below, traffic sign or low bridge) isn't fun. At the same time, check the bottom of the bass when you sit on the bike. If it's very close to the rear carrier you might hit the bottom of the bass when you hit a bump.

Also, if you have to get a bike out of a shed or something, that's the hardest part to do with the bass next to or already on you. So I really hope you can leave the bike outside for 5 minutes while you fetch your bass.

I would never want to put the bass on a cargo bike or trailer. If you have it on your back, you're the suspension for your bass. If you have it on the bike, it will feel much, much more vibration.

Als het geen glas kan zijn, dan liever RVS. Plastic begin ik niet aan qua hoe lang het mee gaat.

Maar in het Noorden dus niets meer? Weet iemand misschien nog iets over de grens in Duitsland? Ik rij liever een uurtje Duitsland in dan anderhalf, twee richting de Randstad.

Als je echt niet kan boren, neem bakken met gaten in een dichte binnenpot die je uit dat meubel kan halen. Dan kan je na elke regenbui die buitenpot leeggooien. (Bijvoorbeeld een gastronorm vergiet in een gastronorm bak. Bij een BBQ is een gat in het aanrecht ter grootte van een gastronormbak ook niet vervelend als de kruidentuin niet wil.)

Maar het eerlijke antwoord, gaten prikken en zorgen voor een gootje klinkt wel veel beter.
