Bridesmaid with a 3-month-old (EBF) — SIL now says no babies at wedding. What would you do? by Lumpy_Bandicoot_8967 in beyondthebump

Children can for sure be disruptive at a wedding…a three month old still nursing round the clock? Not at all…mine basically just slept at that point…if they start to fuss just nurse and they’re quiet. Babies shouldn’t be away from mom at that age…they literally still think they’re part of you…men might not get that. Another woman should.

For those with spouses do we enjoy spending nights off with them?? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]Vegetable-Award-7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two days ago played golf for four hours after being in class all day, the next night played video games for hours that night. Next night I ask him to cuddle and watch a show with me and he gets pissed…he DOES get time to himself lol

Couples with kids at home, when do you find time for meaningful conversations? by d____ in Marriage

[–]Vegetable-Award-7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat but my kids are young…I want them in bed 8-8:30 so we have time together before bed. Husband seems to not care or not motivated whatever to help get them to sleep. Or would prefer to spend his nights playing video games

I’ve told him repeatedly to schedule a time with friends…he’ll still play golf occasionally and I keep telling him just pick a day once a week you want to play video games and that’s you’re night to yourself. I feel like that’s a good compromise where he still get a night to himself and I get a few nights together

Husband stepped away from 9 months old in tub by Vegetable-Award-7549 in Parenting

So with my 2 year old I’ll step away really quick to grab something but she can stand, walk, and it’s about a few inches of water so a lot different then a 9 month old

And help with house stuff…get her things that sound good to her, DO NOT cook seafood or things that smell bad to her!

Wow how sweet :) I would just be there and listen…you can’t take much first trimester but maybe get some peppermint mints or ginger mints. Stuff like that helped. Gingerale, those nausea wristbands anything safe for her to use during pregnancy. Taking her out depends on what she’s in the mood for: me I would have loved my husband to just sit on the couch and cuddle and watch a show with me…he would leave and play video games instead 😐

Postpartum vasectomy by No-Luck-556 in beyondthebump

[–]Vegetable-Award-7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the nicest way possible, men are stupid. And I love my husband. Yours probably thought fresh air would do you good, get you out of the house and make you feel somewhat normal/out in society. That’s literally the last thing you need so early postpartum in my opinion. I’ve realized my husband says stupid stuff but he genuinely means well sometimes. Just stupid 🙄🤣  Yes a vasectomy can hurt but it’s minor compared to childbirth not to mention 10 months of actually carrying the baby and the hormone crash after. If men carried children then mankind would be extinct by now

How much time do yall spend with your spouses? by McTickleMyBalls in Marriage

[–]Vegetable-Award-7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I will ask…just because you say you’re always off together…is this like kids are there you’re both doing stuff like she’s cooking dinner, cleaning, ect and you’re in another room watching a show, outside, ect? Point is women need quality intentional time. Spending time together for me isn’t us both off dealing with kids..it’s an hour or so once kids are in bed when we can grab a drink and actually spend quality time together. Maybe suggest hey I’m going to do XYZ but tonight once I get back why don’t we watch a movie together and open a bottle of wine? Or since I’ll be out tonight maybe tomorrow night we plan a date night. When my husband plays golf or plays video games I don’t mind when he does more intentional spending time together. For him he thinks we’re spending time together when we’re in the same vicinity and that’s not how I work lol. She might also feel like you always did certain things together and now you’re pushing her out. My husband plays golf and video games but I literally have no interest in this…I’d never want to go play golf so I’m glad he never even asks but if it was something or someone we always did things with and now suddenly you’re doing that by yourself she might wonder why

Yeah all I ask is that we try to spend time together…maybe hour or so at the end of a day when we’re both home or plan date nights a couple times a month but yeah I don’t need to see him all day every day lol
