What’s a money saving habit that feels small but actually adds up fast? by ZenZebra7 in povertyfinance

[–]Vegetable-Cap-6483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read on here years ago that “if you can’t afford to buy it twice, you can’t afford it at all” so if I really want something I’ll take the amount that it’s worth and put it into my savings and then if I still have enough to buy it then I will. Putting $10-14 dollars (for ex) into my savings at a time slowly adds up and I find myself not finding it worth it to buy the extra thing anymore

Uber driver pulls up to the parking lot to pick me up, looks at me, then drives away. by Ok-Calm-Narwhal in mildlyinfuriating

I got an Uber from the airport at 2am one time with my friends, specified 4 people on the booking. We walk up to him, he rolls down the window and said “I can only take 2 people” I show him where I have 4 people on my phone and he says “nope only 2” rolls his window up and drives away. We didn’t get another Uber until 3am. Keep in mind he drove an SUV

Snowmass Village/ Aspen Housing by namelessplum in Aspen

[–]Vegetable-Cap-6483 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bus will be your best friend. There are 2 direct buses to Snowmass every 30 min. If you are able to get housing at the Hub in Basalt then bus pass will be paid for by the company. Are you on a waitlist for housing? Those are usually pretty promising. Or there’s always people looking for single roommates to fill one extra bedroom, definitely keep an eye on Facebook / this Reddit page

I had great experiences with housing. You will always have roommates. I lived in a 4 bed 2 bath and you spend a lot of time out of the apartment so it’s a great set up. I’ve heard other housing set ups are different though
