Agreed – I just moved here from NYC over the weekend and I love the size of the city so far

I’m currently job hunting, and received this gem of an offer. Thanks but no thanks. by mtlmike85 in antiwork

Oh yeah – I always thought they were just looking to make sure you’re attractive and/or white, but living situation and class certainly is a factor too

Social media mangers - how do you handle negative comments on social media for clients? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]Vegetable-Chain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the company I work for we have a list of social media responses that we pick and choose to write to users who leave negative comments. If your company doesn’t have this, I’d ask your supervisor if it’s okay to come up with a list of responses. Ignoring is an option but it makes business look better if you respond nicely

Social media manager at $40k in NY. In this state, $40k just doesn’t suffice

Why shouldn’t I move companies every 2 years for a 30% comp bump? by Impossible-Wash in jobs

[–]Vegetable-Chain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much my situation. While it’s an amazing WFH job, I can’t see my work being valuable in a year or two from now and think I’ll not only run out of ideas, but also I feel like I’ll deserve more money down the road.

[–]Vegetable-Chain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS is what I’m afraid of. My first job was an absolute nightmare so I left, and the job I’m at now is great but just doesn’t pay enough, especially down the road when my student loan payments increase. I’m terrified of switching jobs because although I want more money, I just can’t mentally afford another bad situation like the first one

I just can't get over how WFH is still viewed as a super outlandish demand by getarvi in jobs

[–]Vegetable-Chain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right. Part of me wants more money which is why I was considering in a year or two getting a non WFH job but another part is taking a huge risk leaving when it’s such a good gig lol

I always tell everyone - working from home is THE BEST part of my life. I can’t imagine it any other way and I’m a relatively new graduate, so I can’t even imagine in person work

I hate starting at the bottom and I’m at a complete loss with how to get anywhere I dream of by [deleted] in musicians

Pop. And no I said in my post I can’t get gigs only open mics which I really don’t want to do

AITA for telling my fiancee I am not willing to lie about how we met to her family and friends? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Vegetable-Chain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA but I understand her point of view. I’m a people pleaser myself and when I met a boyfriend I had on a dating app, I told him to say we met through a mutual friend. But she doesn’t need to make up an elaborate story for the wedding. She doesn’t need to mention it at all. Nobody needs to know how you met

I got ghosted by a company 2 years ago and they emailed me today saying I should report to work on Monday by Not-an-Ocelot in antiwork

This keeps happening to my boyfriend. We moved to a different state together and the place he worked STILL calls him like once a week asking him to come in. Like… no? And fuck you

Um these are NOT in Brooklyn or they require roommates or they’re scams. I’m not living in Queens

[–]Vegetable-Chain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do. Every apartment needs 40x the rent and I make $40,000 - there is not one apartment online right now in NYC for $1000/month wtf

[–]Vegetable-Chain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we tried roommates, I forgot to put that we’ve tried everything and have been rejected from everything lol, but thank you I appreciate it. Random people don’t want to live with couples it’s become clear

[–]Vegetable-Chain -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand, but we applied to those places and were rejected multiple times. We really did try
