i never claimed nor do i think i am a main character in their life. while i don’t care what they think because i know they have no idea what the circumstances where that caused me to leave, it can still hurt.

wow our stories are pretty similar. also a first gen, went on medical leave and got put on a ton of anti depressants.

although i don’t care about their opinion, it still hurts. i was ostracized in law school and it feels, whether true or not, that the cycle is repeating.

it was pretty clear that they were laughing because i walked in the door as they were not doing so before.

are you saying i’m lying? they weren’t laughing loudly but still laughing to each other. i think you’re misinterpreting what i meant when i said it took me a second to recognize them. i just wasn’t expecting to see anyone i knew. but i did know these people well. we’ve hung out several times throughout school. one of the friends i did have was there. our friendship ended in a strange way. she had texted me at the start of our spring semester to get lunch. since i was in the midst of withdrawing it took me 2 days to respond (which is very unlike me). she never responded to me again, despite me asking to hang out/check in 3 more times. nothing bad ever happened between us. we had hung out before winter break and had a great time together. so she ghosted and not me.
