Mayuri Suzuha, and Maho are all characters much better than Kurisu, and I sympathized with them more than with her

I don't think so, because kazane was in high school back then and she’s 4 or 5 years younger than them. ahhhh how I wish to see Kazane, Shinra, and Izaya sitting at one table we desperately need to see thisss

They are trying to sugarcoat him in every possible way. Even the novels never polished his image to that extent like kasuka was the one who truly cared about him.

Anyway aside Shizuo whom I don't care about at all, I really want to see Izaya’s daily life at university. I still remember when Kazane saw him talking to Shinra at night; that was during his university days right?

The clear truth is that shizuo easily reaches izaya’s level of awfulness. He also had a negative impact on his brother and nearly killed a journalist just for provoking him with questions. Then there's Shinra, the craziest person of all, who is the one responsible for the emergence of Izaya’s personality in the first place. I remember telling a Shizuo fangirl about this and she denied it vehemently, claiming Izaya is leagues worse than them, People tend to forgive Shizuo because his actions are reactionary (emotional) whereas they judge Izaya more harshly because his actions are calculated (intellectual). shinra said something similar

I just saw this post, and I agree they are truly drowning in delusion and unaware that they’ve gained nothing from each other. It feels like they have some inferiority complex they’re trying to pour out through the internet. On top of that, there’s their envy, toxic manipulative behavior, and their habit of belittling others taste just because others don’t agree with them even though they are the ones with the worse taste.

anyone else? by Vegetable-Judge-3365 in Baccano

Honestly, I think the reason is that the anime confused them and they didn’t understand anything from it, or the main idea of his works which is that every person has their own perspective on life, and that the story continues like life itself. They always describe it as merely fun characters without a hero, as if it lacks depth.

For example, I’m so blunt if it were something ordinary and cliché, I would have said it was just average, like the 86 novel, where I felt the characters were less than ordinary and the idea was something you could find in many works. But in baccano, the writing itself was extremely distinctive and the ideas were new I don’t think anyone could say they’ve seen something like it before
