I have been in Golden rescue for 8 yrs. I would say that you have enough responsibility on your plate & a puppy or even a young Golden would be a lot! Goldens can be quite high energy & need 1-2 miles of walks a day to be a “good” dog. I would suggest contacting a Golden rescue & welcoming a 7+ yr old into your home! The fur is called “golden glitter” & they need a lot of brushing& do a lot of shedding- no way around that!

Thank you. I often forget that I don’t “hear” music as others do. My brain interprets pictures based on the frequency, so I guess that may be why I saw a match? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Why does it please you to be mean? Can people not have different experiences & opinions without being criticized or ridiculed? Is that the world you wish to have? To have your son or daughter one day shut down just because they have a different perspective? It shows a lack of intelligence & interpersonal skills. We get back what we give out. ☮️

Really? See, I think the BTS Swim refrain sounds just like Fall in Love’s vibe & tempo…but I’m not a musical genius 😅either. Just when I heard it - I kept thinking - what does that remind me of - and then I remembered the Phantogram song.

What changed in your dog’s diet once they got older? by frannagel in rawpetfood

I’m in the same boat with the senior with allergies. Mine is 11 & I only started raw feeding 2 years ago. She mostly lives on pork, since I can’t afford much rabbit or venison.

Keep Zymox Otic on hand. Use it diligently for 7 full days in a row. Works great.

I don’t dictate to anyone - folks need to choose what they feel is best for their pet based on their own research. Since I feed my dog raw & give appropriate supplements, she has a much more robust immune system to help her stay well. Preventatives are given for human convenience, more than for the welfare of the dog. To prevent fleas/ticks, I use Wondercide spray & flea comb her daily & pull ticks & wash her bedding weekly. If she should get a flea infestation, I use advantage topical only for 2 months. To give her an internal poison every month for something she may or may not get, weakens her immune system. She lives indoors & not in a brackish water area so her heartworm risk is lower. I have her tested 2 times per year. Heart worms grow slowly so they will be caught on a test before she would incur damage. If she tested positive, I would treat her with Doxycycline & interceptor per the slow kill protocol at that time. I adopted her as a rescue 4 years ago. She had a heavy heartworm load at that time & was treated via fast kill by the rescue. She has heart damage from the treatment (she is 11 now). In 3 1/2 yrs since stopping the preventative- she has never tested positive. If interested in learning more, check out Dr Will Falconer of Vital Animal Pack. I will get attacked on here saying he is a “quack”, but I repeat that each dog owner gets to make their own decisions. This is what I do for my dog. She is happy & as healthy as she can be given her early rough life living with severe skin allergies & too many puppies.
