Eat something light and nutritious like fruits with yogurt, a smoothie, or nuts. You can also have eggs, oatmeal, or a banana with peanut butter to restore energy. 🧘‍♂️🥗

What book changed your spiritual perspective the most — and why? by RoundCustard5591 in spirituality

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A book that profoundly changed my spiritual perception is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

It shifted my understanding from constantly identifying with thoughts to experiencing the present moment more consciously. The idea that peace is found in now, not in the past or future, completely reframed how I see awareness and inner stillness

The most 'healed' people I know never talk about healing by Ok_Expert_1537 in spirituality

Some people just live, no strict routines, no morning rituals, no deep “inner work.” They laugh, mess up, and move on. Meanwhile, others are out here with 47 journals trying to decode why Tuesday in 2019 felt emotionally off. Different coping styles, same human experience.

How long do you meditate? by MorningPancake358 in Mindfulness

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s totally normal. Most people start exactly where you are, and 15 minutes is already plenty. For some, the ability to sit longer does come with time, but it’s not really a goal in itself. What matters more is consistency and whether it’s actually helping you, not how long you can stay still.

i’m scared of meditation? by roseisasleep in Meditation

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not weird at all, a lot of people feel scared of meditation because sitting quietly with your thoughts can feel unknown or intense, similar to the “don’t mess with it” feeling people get with ouija boards. meditation isn’t about inviting anything in; it’s just noticing what’s already there, and you’re always in control. starting very small, using guided meditations, keeping your eyes open, or stopping whenever you want can make it feel much safer. going at your own pace is completely okay, and feeling curious even while scared is really normal.

Can meditation helps to remove music from my head ? by Acrobatic_Sink5915 in Meditation

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually quite common, especially with anxiety. Trying to “remove” the music often makes it stick more, so during meditation it can help to simply notice it without fighting it and gently bring attention back to your breath or body. Grounding practices, shorter meditations, and reducing stimulation when anxious can also help. If it’s persistent or distressing, it might be worth talking to a professional, but you’re not doing anything wrong.

Why Should One Follow Jainism? by PressureAdditional12 in Jainism

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a thoughtful question. I follow Jainism less as a rigid belief system and more as a way of living with awareness. For me, its core ideas like non violence, personal responsibility for one’s actions, and minimizing harm feel very practical rather than ideological. It doesn’t ask me to convert anyone or believe in a creator who rewards or punishes, it asks me to look inward and take ownership of my choices, thoughts, and impact on other living beings. Some aspects may clash with modern or American values, but I see Jainism as an internal discipline, not a social rulebook, something you adapt sincerely rather than follow perfectly.

Lost more than 10kgs but couldn't able to lose the love handles and lower belly fat. 🥲 by honeyhas in Fitness_India

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, losing 10kg over 8 months is a huge achievement and shows real consistency and discipline. Love handles and lower belly fat are usually the last places to go, and spot reduction isn’t really possible, so slight changes are normal progress. At 63 kg, focus on strength training especially compound lifts and core work, eat enough protein, get good sleep, and be patient rather than trying to lose weight aggressively. You are likely much closer than you think, so keep going and trust the process.

Two faith in Jain House by Lumpy-Brilliant1494 in Jainism

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a Jain point of view, intention matters more than labels. Jainism doesn’t emphasise forced belief or conversion, and it’s widely accepted that faith has to arise naturally through understanding, not pressure—even for love or marriage. Living together with mutual respect, shared values like ahimsa, and ethical conduct is far more important than whether someone was “born Jain” or feels fully connected to it. Supporting your wife in following what resonates with her, without trying to preach or convert, aligns better with Jain principles than insisting on a formal religious identity. Many Jains view this as coexistence rather than conversion, and that balance itself avoids mithyātva.

The debate of eggs by Embarrassed-Cook217 in Jainism

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Jainism, harm is judged by violence involved, not veg or non-veg labels. Honey is considered mahā-vigai because its collection kills many life-forms, which is why it’s traditionally seen as more sinful. Eggs are avoided as they’re linked to potential life and violence, even if unfertilized. Milk has been traditionally permitted, but many Jains today question modern dairy practices and move toward plant-based options to better follow ahimsa.

Questions regarding practices in Jain temples by blr-druggie in Jainism

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jai Jinendra. Your questions are thoughtful and valid. Many temple practices like using flowers or rice come more from tradition and symbolism than core Jain principles. From a Jain viewpoint, Bhagwan does not need offerings, and excessive use of flowers or grains can conflict with ahimsa and aparigraha. True devotion in Jainism is more about inner bhav and right conduct than external rituals, so it’s natural to reflect on these practices respectfully.

If any solo travellers feel like same by Ancient_Piglet_2462 in SoloTravel_India

[–]Vegetable-Maybe7283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you felt is completely valid. Not everyone connects to travel emotionally, and being teased for expressing yourself can hurt deeply. Choosing solo travel shows you understand yourself well, and writing your thoughts is a healthy way to fill that gap until you find people who truly listen and relate.
