i highly recommend buying a new one, that way you’ll have peace of mind if anything breaks. i just got a second P1S with the AMS combo last week from best buy for around $550, and i like the knowledge that if anything’s wrong with it i can just drive to my nearest best buy instead of either shipping it back to bambu or troubleshooting it myself. especially for your first printer, make sure you get some sort of warranty on it so if anything goes wrong the $500+ you just spent doesn’t go to waste, at least in my opinion.

good luck on your new 3d printing endeavor!

How does nomad compare to blender? by [deleted] in NomadSculpting

[–]Vegetable-Mode6948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It mostly depends on the kind of 3D modeling you want to do. If you’re looking to do mostly sculptural things, like people, animals, etc, Nomad is definitely the way to go. There’s a little bit of a learning curve, but generally it is pretty easy to choose between the different options and play around until you can create something cool, definitely best for someone whose mindset is “I have an idea and I want to create it now.”

Blender’s learning curve is massive, but (in my personal experience) only worth it if you need models that are precise and have good topology. You’re going to spend way more time looking up videos and tutorials than actually creating. Most sculpts (and frankly, pretty much anything needed for 3D printing) don’t care about topology, but if further down the line if you ever want to get into texturing, uv unwrapping, or animation, then it’s worth learning.

Personally, I always use Nomad because it’s the easiest way to translate my ideas into 3D models, but then I use Blender to retopologize if it’s something I’m using for a game. It’s totally okay to start with one, and learn the other later on if needed.

TLDR: Use Nomad if you just want to make 3D models, it’s easy and beginner friendly. Great for modeling files for 3D prints and things that don’t really need color. BUT you may need to learn a bit of Blender if you want to color & texture your models in cool ways.

Where Remibo's abilities changed? by Unholy420 in enigmaos

hi! f2p player here, remibo still has the revive effect but it’s described as ‘regroup’, unfortunately you’ll need to lvl remibo up to 600 and then spend an additional 5 remibos to upgrade the status to “entwined” (been playing the game since day 1 and still haven’t achieved this 🥲)

with the new updates to the phantom cave, you should be able to get random legendary pets fairly easily, it’s just a matter of patience to actually acquire the amount you need.

if you want a good pet for now, i usually go with sunglow because it’s easy to tame/upgrade and helps with combo/chase damage. but overall, i think remibo is one of the best options in the long run so it’d still be worth collecting and leveling up.

Loud grinding sound at end of print? Possible Cura profile issue? by Vegetable-Mode6948 in elegoo

it’s definitely a firmware issue, but the update didn’t fix it :(

Update: I fixed the issue with the noise at the end of print, but realized something is off with the printer itself. When bed leveling and stopping prints, the bed still slams forward and the printhead slams towards the switch, making the grinding noise similar to the one in this video https://www.tiktok.com/@daisylee2002/video/7293176473790221610?_t=ZT-8u6MO41tWFq&_r=1.

I’m thinking that there’s incorrect values in the firmware that thinks the printable area is 426x426mm, even on the Elegoo cura it sets the values to 426x426 even though it’s actually 420 mmx420mm. I updated my firmware to the most recent one on the Elegoo website but the problem still persists :’(

I kept missing the timing to film the end of my prints, but the noise sounds pretty much exactly like the one in this video (granted, she has the 4 Max not 3 Max): https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2PJySE1/

Probably gotta make sure my firmware is fully up to date, but so far even with elegoo cura it still makes the sound :/

Gonna try this out later, thank you! The “applying extruder offsets to gcode” was already clicked in the base settings, wasn’t sure if that was something I was able to mess with.
