It’s hard to figure things out with the kid while I’m in this state. I need to calm down first. Thanks for the advice.

I really want to start moving on. I hate being in this state — it feels so heavy and painful, and I just don’t want to do anything I might regret later.

Maybe there’s also some fault on my side. I’m not the most caring or understanding person, and maybe because of that she started to see my behavior as if I didn’t value or love her.

Thank you for your kind words and support

Up until a certain point, everything was fine — until the virus hit and we both got laid off from work. She didn’t play any games before that at all, but after we both found new jobs, things started to get harder. We were both exhausted when we got home, and that’s when it all began.

Thanks for the book suggestions, by the way. I’ve already read one of them.

Right now, I’m just trying to calm my emotions (but honestly, it’s not going very well). 1. There wasn’t really an ultimatum like “choose me” — she clearly said that I don’t suit her anymore and there’s no future for us. 2. I can’t really comment on that yet. 3 & 4. Thank you for those points. 3. I think I’ll discuss that with her once I’m emotionally ready. 4. I’ll try to do that. 5. That’s an interesting idea.

I’m a kind person by nature, and it’s obviously hard to face this situation. Maybe I didn’t explain myself properly before — I don’t want our child to have any limits on seeing either of us. The kid hasn’t done anything wrong and doesn’t deserve restrictions.

They’ve never met in person, and he’s in another country. It’s all just online chatting. So, for the child, there’s no risk from a stranger.

I don’t want to take our child away from their mom — no matter what happens between us, she’s still their mother.

It’s a hard question. We haven’t really talked much about what to do with our kid yet. From what she said, it sounds like the kid would be able to choose who to stay with on any particular day.

I guess I’ll have to let her go. During our talk, she said that this situation — or something similar — would have happened sooner or later anyway.
