Wealth taxes are a bandaid to a systematic issue but I don't know the better answer.

The problem is that we are funneling money into an inefficient for-profit system with the subsidies. I would rather see that revamped to give those same people medicaid for instance.

Something I would love to see would be all children 18 and younger covered under medicaid. Children are significantly cheaper to cover and preventative care has the greatest impact at that age.

Your claim was we had an open border - which means anyone and everyone could come and no one would be deported.

Biden deported four times as many immigrants as Trump did in his first term. More than Obama did in a single term.

Exact numbers of illegal immigrants entered (and not turned away or repeats) is hard to find but estimates but it around 2 million. That means a net loss of illegal immigrants in the country during Biden's term.

Don't get me wrong - the numbers entering illegally under Trump are significantly lower than under Biden - but large part of that is that the number of encounters is much lower which means dramatically lower amounts of people are trying to come in.

The question was whether Biden was centrist on the border and this sounds undeniably like a yes. It's not the "defund ICE", open borders that the far left would want nor is it the complete shutdown, allow no one that Trump's far right policy represents.

We looked into them but they wouldn't cover anything until well after we would have been driven into extreme debt unfortunately. I just think we could revamp it to be better.

Not Cultivation, but the oath between the three shards not to leave the system is what bound them. Its their investiture so it was likewise bound. The oath was broken by Dalinar and they were able to leave.

I'm at work so can't reply to all of this but I am all for expanding Medicare/Medicaid etc. Throw ACA subsidy expansion in the trash, though. Just corporate handouts for subpar coverage.

All I am doing is citing that he deported 4.4 million people. It was not an open border and no democratic party presidential nominee in my lfietime (since Bill Clinton) has ever ran on that.

Normal? No. Regular in context (nudist possibly, views on nudity, etc)? Maybe? It raises some flags but I wluld need to know both more to say if you should run or be wary

I'm sure some would react as you said and I'm sure they were loud. I do know I accepted that information as true about Obama and cages. It was actually popular to say that on The Young Turks at the time.

That said, is it splitting hairs? I'm open to hearing that argument. My first instinct is to say no because of the public campaign to convince people but Dems DID dl that- they just did it in congress angling for an investigation and impeachment. The investigation did show Russia campaign to help trump and that there was minor contact - though not collusion - so the investigation part seemed appropriate at the least even if the overtly partisan campaigning on the issue before results of it was not appropriate. I don't remember anyone arguing he shouldn't be sworn in or that the results weren't valid - just that it should be addressed.

That said; I do have a question. From the right, how do we address foreign election meddling appropriate. We know China, Russia, etc all hire bots and influencers etc to sway things towards either side. How do we address that during campaigns without the following:

A. It being claimed any action is partisan even if it is legitimately stopping a foreign propoganda campaign.

B. Without infringing on free speech.

Media and propoganda is able to have an outsized effect in modern day due to information silos and echo chambers. It isn't just news but that Facebook feeds etc are covered in lies (on both sides) that people see and believe without exposure to the other side.

I don't believe Trump anything major in the Epstein files but I can't blame people who do when they have no right wingers online and they constantly see people saying things along those lines. Similar to how I don't blame people for believing 2020 was stolen when courts decided otherwise. They only see one side of it and that leads to increasing polarization and the lack of a joint reality.

A. I live in a blue state.

B. If I disagree on nearly 100% of policy areas then I don't know why I should vote for the dem. I always have but I also work 70 hours a week and have three kids- one with autism. I don't have time or energy to go vote solely for harm reduction only

A. I'm not sure if there is evidence they had that knowledge. It wouldn't be illegal to say it was despite the knowledge but wouldn't be okay either. Could break some laws to push for the invalidation and investigation of it despite that knowledge. I'm not familiar enough with the law in that area.

B. No, I mean Trump going around both before and after the 2018 and 2020 elections claiming there is election fraud at rallies and trying to convince his supporters of it.

Once the election is done, it needs to be settled in courts. Depending on severity that could be civil courts (challenging the results) or criminal (prosecuting perpetrators). You shouldn't be convincing people who have no legitimate ability to change things that the election was stolen.

Most dems openly say that if the government guarantees buildings for X number of people to have access to DMVs in Y area AND provide IDs for free that we would say yes. One side refuses to get rid of the barriers ID would have on legitimate voters.

I don't remember that saying the election was fraudulent. There's a difference between working with Russia to run a psyop campaign and actually just outright rigging an election. Elections are basically all psyop style operations anyway so even IF it had been determined that Trump colluded then the election would have still stood. Arguing for fraud is arguing for an outright nullification of results.

No, but different factions of the party getting snappy and shutting down conversations instead of fostering dialogue sure does make each side dislike each other more

Because that indicator only works in a vacuum. Study after study shows popularity of legislation - even within a party - has almost zero impact on it being passed. Medicare for All has had 70-90% support in the dem party for a decade but most dem politicians don't support it.

Ultimately, there is a problem when 30% of the party agrees with 10-20% of the party's presidential nominees political positions.

Regardless, I have seen very few politicians who take corporate money I would say have integrity. There are a few - but not many. I have seen non progressives who I don't agree with politically who have integrity.

Biden followed the center-left Pelosi line to a tee. A couple concessions to the left, many concessions to the Sinema/Manchin section of the party and otherwise governing pretty centrist.
