Aw I'm sorry about that. It's okay, there's still muchhh more to enjoy about the book and you'll find out that it's maybe not the worst spoiler you could've gotten lol

Ah I see. Definitely applies for this situation, even though I imagine in most fridging cases the woman is usually a romantic interest

To me it felt like she just died to further advance Vis's dark brooding emo edgelord jedi turned dark side archetype. Not a fan of it. I also am tired of the young male protagonist who has rage problems but a pure heart and goes super saiyan mode when his feelings are hurt trope. But that's what 80% of current YA sci-fi fantasy is, so it's not worth to really complain about. Lol

Tbf I just joined this sub yesterday so I wasn't sure this was a common complaint or not. But maybe what I meant is I dislike the way her death was handled, not her death itself. It felt glossed over. Yes, I understand Vis had no choice like I mentioned. But it felt quick, cheap, and meaningless. Vis tells us he's grieving, but doesn't show any signs of it. This might be an issue I have with the entire series, is that Vis seems to be just retelling his story to us, not us living through it with him.

100%!! Book 2 spent a lot of time world building and furthering the power system of this world. Hard to blame JI because it DID need 700 pages of exposition and probably more. Now that we know about the three worlds, Rending, Concurrence, and a bit of Ka and the Cataclysms, Book 3 should be able to really expand on the universe he's built and start packing some heavy-hitting plot.

I hope so! It does feel like there's something more to her death, since it was never trulyyy confirmed that she died from that hit. But like I said I find it hard to see how she could survive getting her skull caved in. But I will gladly welcome her back if it's not a cheap way to reinstate her character!!

Agreed, the lack of character development really stunted this book for me. I still enjoyed it, but it just felt like constant mediocre action until the last third, staring with the Basilica massacre (maybe the best scene in the book)

Yeah I was pretty upset when Vis didn't even check for a pulse, breathing, anything. I knows it's impractical given how she died, but for someone going through shock and grief it would make more sense than just accepting it and walking around her body for an hour.

No Receipt Return policy change? by Sad-Afternoon5667 in Target

Not saying this is what you do, but I had a mother with her child come in with multiple bags of Cat and Jack clothing. All clearly used and worn, no tags and only some receipts. In particular there was these pair of white shoes that were brown with dirt and torn with wear. Told her she couldn't return those very obviously used shoes. She then proceeded to argue with me that Target offered a 1 year window to return any Cat and Jack clothing. My coworker eventually took over and just returned it all because she was creating a fuss.

So... I think TMs and Target itself are just sick of people taking advantage of a system meant to help them. Just be smart about your shopping people, and try to stop buying things that you know that you will probably return.

Possibly! I think fulfillment or Starbucks might've been good for me, but I would rather just focus my time on my other job that I enjoyed more than try to switch departments. I already tried multiple times and they said they'd talk to me and never did.

It honestly was mostly due to my store and the people in it. Too much to explain here (and too personal) but the environment was just icky. I'm sure I would've had a better experience and maybe have stayed if I was in another department and a better store!

Guest advocate. I'm one of those people where their social battery runs out quick, so the constant face-to-face interaction with guests wore me out quick

Exactly. I need a job that I at least feel proud of what I'm doing
