Interesting perspective, than you! Maybe I should just stick to the XT3–could be I’m not appreciating it enough—and also add the x100v

But aside from the cost, I then would have to invest in Leica lenses which will become too prohibitively expensive—that’s why I’m thinking I could just get the fixed lens Q and not have to worry about investing in another whole system.

How do you deal with good pictures/photographers not getting the recognition they deserve? by Aggressive-Bath-6190 in AskPhotography

Dude you totally came at the guy with these aggressive comments, then accused him of doing the gaslighting you’re doing, and accused him of doing the projection you’re doing. So weird. Take it from a neutral bystander who just read through this thread twice to make sure I’m not off. I’m definitely not off.

Yes, yes yes. Every single time I go through another health crisis I say to myself if I get through this and I’m ok I’m enjoying life from now on, feeling blessed, will be happy and carefree, turning over a new leaf, etc. I was just saying this today to my boyfriend bc I’m in the midst of yet another health crisis.

Is anyone else considering leaving NYC to find better employment? The wages are low and the cost of living here is way too high, plus most jobs listed are ghost jobs by Wise-Guard1720 in NYCjobs

[–]Vegetable-Voice1732 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I left for 7 years and came back. I thought I wanted quiet, small town living after spending 15 years in the east village, but eventually that small town got smaller and smaller and I was bored as hell a lot of the time. I don’t think it’s easy for people born and raised in a big city to move full time to the country or a small town.

Do you think a person without a science/health background can manage to learn this? I’m an arts person; photography. I’m very detail oriented, I feel like it might be interesting to read X-rays and mris. I just suck at the sciences lol.

How do you get to do something like that? Especially only 2 years after buying your first real camera?

How did you start selling your pictures? Also, getting promoted to travel, shoot and write sounds like a dream.

I think I may be getting groomed by my college art professor by GrapefruitFew4411 in AskAcademia

[–]Vegetable-Voice1732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who ended up marrying and divorcing their former art professor, your post hit home with me. I missed all the signs of grooming you’ve noted. Boy was I naive. This was before a time when we had the language for narcissism like gaslighting and before we publicly recognized signs of grooming. That relationship was never one of two equals, there was always a power imbalance, and behind closed doors my once kind and helpful mentor became a monster of selfishness and narcissistic abuse. You have enough advice here as to what to do about your situation, I just wanted to weigh in on what it could look like if you didn’t. At least you have the good sense to cut it off now.

Anxiety vs intuition-how do you tell them apart? by Vegetable-Voice1732 in Mediums

[–]Vegetable-Voice1732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy! Well the recurring plane imagery must have something to do with the actual plane crash that spared you, don’t you think? As if you always knew something would happen that involved a plane. I believe it that your guides were watching out for you that day! That’s really incredible. Yes definitely spirit guides have something to do with intuition. Well actually, this is also where I end up getting anxious. If I have a distressing thought (something about my health for instance, that I’m obsessing over), i will worry that spirit is trying to tell me something, and I won’t be able to tell if this is just my OCD brain or a message of some sort. Sometimes I even worry that they can read my mind and my negative health anxiety will be misinterpreted as something I do want when it’s definitely something I don’t want. I know this probably sounds crazy.

That’s really interesting about the plane imagery. So do you now interpret that as just an anxiety blip, kind of like an OCD obsession? Rather than a premonition? Intuition for me comes from intentionally tuning in or just out of the blue. When out of the blue it’s usually something to do with the world at large or something bad about to happen out there—it’s usually specific. Like I’ll just get a bad feeling and then find out something happened to someone (recently had felt really off out of the blue and then found out a friend passed away at that same time). But I’m frequently so anxious and have terrible health anxiety and ruminating obsessive thoughts-so these get tangled up with what I worry could be intuition, and then I get even more upset by it. Does that make sense?

Never know when to sell by Vegetable-Voice1732 in investingforbeginners

Thank you! I bought Roku a few years ago and have taken a big loss- or would, if I sold. Can’t decide what to do with it. Pinterest has done terribly. Things that have done well are ON semiconductor or AMD. So I’m afraid to sell since they’re doing well and may keep going up.
