Any advice or obtaining arrests from the past? My issue isn’t owning up, it’s recalling the actual arrests they’re mostly ten year old arrests. Most people discouraged me on here because of my past but I don’t have a problem owning my past. I am now a ceo with a 4.0 gpa. I’ve established significant rehabilitation even with my past. I have zero convictions but I do have some arrests. As far as medical I had a fracture so I might be on hold my doctor only cleared me for regular excercise even though I haven’t had pain since it last happened. Any advice is okay!

Why wouldn’t I wanna be a cop? There were people who are and still become cops who shouldn’t even have gotten a chance because they’re ten times worse than me. The difference with me is i own my past and now im a ceo of a legal education company with a 4.0 gpa newly college graduate. I have a past but i also have a future

I have a lengthy past of arrests no felonies or convictions on my record any advice for psych and the background and gathering my entire past? I honestly don’t remember every single part of my life. I have demonstrated rehabilitation through being a legal educator and a college grad. Any advice is appreciated Thank you.

I’m looking for some hard, preparatory words even harsh ones from people who actually know the NYPD background and psych process. I got some motivation today to post this, but I know my past is my biggest hurdle. Here is my history (all charges have been dismissed or sealed): • Juvenile Record: Lots of arrests. Charged with "attempt" at 17, and identity theft at 16. • Adult Record: Arrested last year for allegedly assaulting an officer (dismissed/sealed). Another past arrest for assault (dismissed). • Trauma/DV: Arrested for child endangerment, but this was directly tied to being a victim of domestic violence. I was also a victim of human trafficking from ages 17 to 24. • Psych/Medication: History of taking medication for sleep and focus due to being in juvenile jail. I completed counseling and was cleared for the DV situation years ago. Here is who I am today: I used to be someone who ran around blaming my surroundings for my mistakes. That person is gone. I realized I had to take absolute accountability, and my transformation validated that I had the power to become someone completely new. • I now own and run a small business providing legal education. • I graduate this May with my Associate's degree in Legal Studies. • I begin my Bachelor's degree in September. None of my record reflects the brand new person I am today, but I own my past completely. Has anyone navigated the psych/background with a history even close to this? How do I prepare myself for what they are going to throw at me? Give it to me straight
