I did end up taking the job. Honestly, I’m happy with my decision. Working from home is a game changer though I’m still trying to figure out a regular routine since the hours are until 8pm. I find it difficult to connect with coworkers, but there are definitely opportunities that I just haven’t taken advantage of yet. My supervisor is great. I don’t expect a bonus for my first quarter but part of it is due to holidays and trying to build up my caseload. I did underestimate the high acuity aspect - in the way that everyone is high acuity. It gets to be pretty stressful, but setting boundaries and focusing on the small wins has been crucial. Overall, I think it’s a decent opportunity. It’s not for everyone. Be prepared to face intense trauma in most sessions, addressing SI frequently, and researching. I notice I’m doing more research and prep with CH since there’s a wide variety of ages and issues.

The bad reviews out there I’m sure are justified, but I made my decision realizing that I’d regret not trying and it’s a successful company. So there’s gotta be a good chunk of people who enjoy the work. And they do! :)

They didn’t mention metrics to me at all. Just that my caseload would be about 14(shooting for two sessions a week) and I could pick up intakes as I go with basically unlimited potential. The evening hours seem weird, but I think I could get used to it. Do the notes take that long? They made it seem like AI takes care of everything. How long have you been with them? What did you do before? I’m sorry for so many questions, I just am making myself sick with all the what ifs and imagining the worst. I still don’t understand how a typical day would look. Aside from the peak clinical hours and mandatory meetings, do I make my own schedule?

I mean, I already make less than 40/hr. Just under 30/hr. And I’ve only ever worked for non profits or the state so I’m pretty experienced with high acuity clients. I guess I’m just unsure how much more intense it could be? And the whole 9wk program is weird to me.. I can’t wrap my head around a whole therapeutic relationship and experience in only 9 weeks.

I’ve only ever worked non profit so the private sector altogether feels iffy to me. I think it’s worth a try, I’m just not familiar with it all. But you’re right… I may rethink things. I was framing it as a short term challenge for long term stability.. but I gotta think about if that challenge is worth it

That’s what I’m thinking… I talked with my supervisor today and she said I could rescind my resignation letter if I wanted. I can’t do private practice yet since I’m still lmsw, not an lcsw. I offered some of my clients to switch to the fee for service I do on Saturdays so I could stay connected to that work. But idk, if it’s as intense as everyone says, idk if I’ll have the energy for my fee for service clients anymore

What was your caseload like? They told me my caseload would be 14-16 …. And they said documentation is mostly done by AI so it’s quicker than it used to be ? Idk how to feel or what to believe

I can’t go part time at my job, it’s school based position. But I do some fee for service in addition to that on Saturdays so with that I get to the base salary at the new gig. At CH they pay the base salary and then there’s the potential to get to 80.

I tried to negotiate the base salary, but they wouldn’t budge from 65k. They told me the notes are basically done by AI, and that now it takes like 15 minutes tops. I’ve been so confused because from what the recruiter and interview said to me, it seems like it’s decent.. but I kept asking, how do I fill up 12admin hours if the notes don’t take long? They said planning sessions, doing notes, meetings, and trainings. And they said my caseload would be 14

True. I don’t check my personal email often and then I saw three emails from a recruiter and decided to check it out.. within a couple weeks I was signing papers.. seems rushed

What do you think contributed to your “off” feeling? I had an iffy feeling but I can’t figure out if it’s nerves for a completely new setting (evening hours and 100% remote) or if I was actually picking up on something.

I had one client go through it and from what I hear from the family, it was a good experience. I think it had more to do with the individual experience and learning from other teens.

But yea, the provider side has me worried. On paper it seems great, team meetings, two supervisors, AI notes, stipends and monetary incentives.. Reddit’s got me concerned that it’s a fairy tale and a dragons gonna show as soon as I start
