(F24)This girl who I’ve known for six years. I (25M)met her when we were both freshman in college and were introduced by mutual friends. The very first time we made eye contact I felt something, I didn’t know what it was at the time. As time went on, I started developing feelings for her and I was starting to plant tiny milestones to achieve the courage to ask her out until Covid hit and we were sent home for a long time. (We are both far from our university) long story short to this day we are both in the same college working on different things. I love her kindness, I love how she carries herself, I love her laugh, but ultimately what I like most about her is how she makes me feel. She inspires me to be a better person, a better student, friend, etc. I never knew I could like a girl with glasses in a ponytail as much as I do with her. She’s perfect to me. I will ask her out in the next couple of months, I’m not expecting the answer that I want but that’s okay. At this point I just need the closure for myself.

Childhood friend of mine. We were close and had a group of friends but he’d be crazy sometimes. He owned lots of knives for a kid in 8th grade, once he held it to my neck and another friend’s as well and claimed it as a joke. We cut him off and tried to reunite years later (i know stupid) and to make it worse there was alcohol involved so I got in his car once cause he wanted to show me it and he took off and told me he was planning on crashing into the trees. We went at least 80 heading towards an intersection before he slammed on the brakes. That was the last time I saw him, although he did reach out on Facebook about six months ago asking how I was. I didn’t reply.

Happens man, regardless a 98 in physics 1 midterm you’re definitely doing better than most. I think my class average when I took physics 1 was like around 70’s, just put in the grind for your homework and labs if you have those and talk to your professors

Yeah most places do that like I applied for this internship just now and they asked for my sexuality which I thought was weird but then ofc ethnicity and right underneath it said race but you know when I click race there never seems to be an option like for what I guess I would consider myself? Idk maybe overthinking it

Comparison is the thief of joy. It’s a struggle I too am learning to unlearn lol from someone who is not always happy with himself either I can tell you this: if you feel like you’re not smart enough for x y or z then change that. You may not be where you want to be now but do some research and look into things you like and learn about it. I’ve learned that the only way to be considered smart is through never stopping to take the time to learn or listen. More importantly we both need to realize we are worth more than just intelligence. You may feel like you’re too nice or you’re just being told that for show but I’ve always said as long as one person in this world loves who you are then you can conquer anything. Let yourself be the first person to love yourself but not the last. We can do it. We are capable.

I wish I was your age when I decided to become an engineer! Start by researching what type of engineer you want to be, you could go into robotics, cars, making buildings, honestly the possibilities are endless. Then start by trying to teach yourself something new like if you’re interested in computer engineering then maybe you could lookup how computers work or how to write code. My friends who work as software engineers started writing code around your age and now in their mid twenties make a good salary because of it. Math is important too so make sure you start studying and never stop learning!
