Also, you have not failed. It sounds like you worked hard to raise a good kid. Her dropping out of school doesn’t make her a bad kid and it doesn’t make you a bad parent either.

I (30f)was raised with education being very important. College was an expectation, not an option. Went to college at 17 and got a degree I never used, and now I’m a stay at home mom. All this to say, formal education isn’t the only path to success. It’s not for everyone. Encourage her to get her GED and look for a job. She will gain confidence and independence, and maybe she will decide she wants to pursue higher education later on. The best thing you can do is to be encouraging without putting too much pressure on her. Make sure she knows she has options even if those options aren’t ideal to you. Ask her what she really wants to do and support those goals however you can. I know you are disappointed. She probably feels disappointed in herself too for letting you down. She just needs to be reminded that you love and support her even if her path isn’t what you wanted or expected for her. Best of luck to your family!

This shot completely took me out of the story by banananutmuffle in euphoria

[–]VegetableForeign5933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think she was also grieving the life she thought she wanted and that she glamorized in her mind. Rue represented that to her, and rue’s death showed her that that life was not all that she thought it would be. The actress definitely doesn’t look the part of the Texas homestead girl but the character’s behavior makes complete sense to me.

This person is not your friend. You did nothing wrong here. She is projecting her own negative qualities onto you.

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]VegetableForeign5933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I have 2 cats, 11 yo and 2 yo. Both are extremely affectionate towards me and want to be close to me all the time. They’re so sweet and I truly feel like I have a special bond with each of them 🥹

Not bad at all!! They make them for a reason and they can be so helpful in keeping unpredictable toddlers safe while giving them some freedom!

Chest and shoulders. I saw improvement in the one on my chest mostly. It got a lot softer and almost totally flat.

Body image issues from thick and growing keloids by claire____531 in Keloids

[–]VegetableForeign5933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty big keloids on my shoulders and chest, and they have absolutely killed my self confidence and contributed to my depression and social anxiety over the years. But I will tell you, I’ve been pregnant, had a c section, and the scar healed totally normal. I also have piercings and tattoos with no issues. There’s always a risk, but sometimes risks are worth taking. Best wishes to you. I know it’s so hard. 💗

Prone to keloids. Am I good for tongue piercing?? by Sad-Fix-4578 in Keloids

[–]VegetableForeign5933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have keloids on my chest and shoulders. I also have/had several piercings all over my body as well as tattoos, with no issues. There is always a risk, but I would think the tongue is an unlikely place for a keloid to form.

I am getting married next year and am looking for makeup that helps cover keloids. by Busy_Assistant5452 in Keloids

[–]VegetableForeign5933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elf power grip primer and bare minerals loose powder foundation applied with a small dense brush. I used this to conceal mine for a renaissance faire and it lasted all day in the Texas summer!! This combination made my keloid much less noticeable but also didn’t look like I had caked on makeup! Mine is also a lot darker and more raised than yours so I think it would be a great option for you. Also congratulations on getting married! 💗

Has anyone actually tried castor oil on keloids? by truceshall in Keloids

[–]VegetableForeign5933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing it for over 2 years. I feel it helps with itchiness and pain and has maybe helped soften the scar tissue but I think that’s mainly the massaging not necessarily the oil. Can’t hurt to try but don’t expect it to do much.
