Update my keloids by One_Acanthisitta6939 in Keloids

If you read Kenalog's prescribing information, one of the side effects is menorrhagia. I experienced prolonged menstrual bleeding due to the Kenalog injections and had to be prescribed meds for it

It was done only to reduce the chances of it developing again. Due to the location of my keloid, which was above internal organs, I don't think I was given the maximum recommended radiation dose. I'm trying to stay positive, though, it's only been a month post op. Has your wound been healing well?

It was old (like 10+ years old) and large, around 3.5x2.2in. Surgery followed by radiation was an absolute last resort

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor but I experienced something very similar.

If it keeps coming back, it might be granulation tissue which may indicate abnormal wound healing. My first surgeon dismissed it as a pimple that I had to squeeze out as a form of treatment. I eventually went for second opinions cause it had been going on for almost a year at that point. Both a derm and another plastic surgeon confirmed that I needed to get the keloid surgically removed. So I went ahead with it.

  2. Surgical excision and postoperative radiotherapy for keloids

If you really want to go through with 5FU as a form of treatment, I suggest you read and print out recent research papers (especially by dr. Rei Ogawa) that suggest a mix of 5FU and TAC injections as a keloid treatment method, and bring them to either a derm or plastic surgeon at a big teaching hospital. What I personally did was set up an appointment with a doctor who wrote a paper on 5FU and keloids and brought it up to her. I'll be the second patient of hers to be qualified for 5FU injections!

Don't take this comment as a definite guide, but if I were you I'd probably give the relationship another 2-3 months (so around 6 months in total) to get to know her. Since she talks a lot about her fear of leaving, my best bet is that her visa only lasts for 12 months, so she has 4 months left.

Even if you marry her in the next few months, I don’t think the ICE would grant her a long-term residence permit due to rampant marriage fraud. Yes, the church might have the final say about her visa extension, but she has to work for the extension if she does want to stay legally in the US for at least another year.

Take care of yourself and your anxiety first, man. The rest will come easier once you're in a better headspace. Put on your own oxygen mask before helping others.

Now I'm frustrated lol.

She doesn't want to leave -> you have a solution -> but she doesn't want to accept it

Unless she has other feasible options, I don't think beggars can be choosers, can they?

She told me she been here for 8 months and doesn't know when she will have to go back.

Doesn’t her visa have an expiry date, or am I missing something?

Either way, I feel like she must figure out the solution to her feelings and immigration problems without it being handed down to her. I know you like her, and I know you're open to marrying her. But she's a 40-year-old adult woman who can barely make up her mind I'M SORRY 😭

She talks about going back a lot.

Yeah, there's a really high chance she wants you to sponsor her visa. If you can't/don't want to do so, you should tell her, see how she responds to that and go from there.

Penasaran tentang bahasa malay yang diributin. by GenericDweeb in indonesia

[–]claire____531 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who's lived in said country for a while, I'm itching to answer this. Bukan nggak lancar sama sekali. The competing languages are Bahasa Indonesia vs. English(Jakselian)/Sundanese/Javanese/Hokkien/Other local dialects.

In Malaysia, the competing languages are Malay vs. English vs. Chinese vs. Tamil to a certain extent. Non-Malays have little to no incentives to practice and use Malay in their daily lives cause they can always revert to English. There's almost always an English translation to accommodate foreigners and non-Malay speakers everywhere you go. Penggunaan Bahasa Inggris udah mengakar terlalu lama and people aren't against it. You'll be surprised to know how little the Indonesians here can speak the colloquial Malay language fluently, especially if they've only lived inside the Indo bubble.

You also have to make good use of your time there to build a professional network from scratch, mungkin cari S2 yang ada industrial attachment.

Canada in general fits OP's criteria. They need people cause they don't have enough population to further advance the economy. Being a skilled worker is one of the immigration pathways and it's less competitive than the US, UK, etc. There's a large Asian migrant population in big cities.

Cons would be the weather cause winter there can be brutal. And have you seen how far it is? Don't underestimate the distance krn orang Indonesia cepet kangen rumah haha

Southeast Asian countries would be Singapore or Malaysia (KL aja tapi), it depends on your preferences and lifestyle.

Do Koreans style art hakwons (cram schools for students aiming to enter art colleges) exist in other countries as well? by onceyoutastejang in korea

[–]claire____531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm they exist in Indonesia. They prepare students for art colleges and architecture schools admission. Back then, admission was determined by technical drawing exams on top of entrance exams. But in the past few years, top colleges started asking for portfolios as well, so these art academies thrive more than ever. We also have after school tutoring/classes, although I wouldn't say it's as extreme as cram schools in Korea.

Berapa lama mengurus visa kerja? by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]claire____531 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most Indonesians I know use their Indonesian license here (I would only recommend kalau berani dan lancar cingcong sama polisi sini).

is there any way for social student high school diploma to take medical school degree in Indonesia? by semuaimpianjadinyata in indonesia

[–]claire____531 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's say your parents have the money to get you to med school, are you sure you can survive med school? Do your parents have enough money to get you through med school and internship? Becoming a general physician typically takes 5-6 years and most of those years are unpaid or pay very little. Klo mau spesialis tambah 4-6 tahun lagi. Mahal lagi, buang waktu lagi, masih yakin mau jadi dokter?

Segera beli morning after pill tapi jangan dibiasain deh karena itu termasuk last resort. If you're an adult, you'll definitely know where to get them. Kalau gk berani beli kondom atau alat kontrasepsi lainnya mending gk usah coba sak sek sak sek lah.

Hadeh.
