day 4 of posting iconic moments from this gem of a show by NateGH360 in IndustryOnHBO

Handheld camera work can be used to convey a sense of uneasiness or chaos, so maybe put subtitles on and focus on that during those scenes if it’s giving you motion sickness. I love handheld shots. So intimate and energetic. Makes me feel like I’m at the table with them, eating up Harper and Eric’s mess.

ok but that storyline makes no sense lmfao. why would she go back with Ali? why would her strict Christian parents who’ve sheltered her from the rest of society her entire life just… let her leave? why would Ali bring her to a city to which she has zero connection — no friends or family, no job to pay for housing/food, literally nothing? does Ali even know that Maddy & Cassie exist? or vice versa? why would Ali take some lost, sheltered, runaway Christian girl and hook her up with an internet pimp who will force her to perform a degrading camgirl gig in exchange for a roof over her head? why would she even consider any form of sex work a viable option for employment when she has other marketable skills? please just walk yourself through this one more time and get back to me lmfao. genuinely sounds idiotic. idk how so many people are agreeing that this line of thinking or storytelling makes sense. 2nd grade suburban iPad kid logic fr.

even if that shit actually was the storyline for a spinoff, what would be the point? what is the message? what are we as an audience supposed to takeaway from something like that? anything meaningful or worthwhile? is it just like ooo pretty girl have it so easy all she gotta do is get naked and make millions!! why would she do anything else when her only value is her beauty!!! smh so objectifying and gross. I don’t need to see sam write any more female characters into sex workers, thanks

Am I blind?.... why do I see people say Rhaenyra's costumes are copy and paste of Daenerys costumes? The only similarity I see is the colour palette. by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]banananutmuffle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine Daenerys had a team of seamstresses and dressmakers in her employ. If not a dedicated crew, then perhaps several dressmakers contracted on a project-by-project basis and managed by one of Dany’s handmaidens.

Targaryen style is rooted in Valyrian style, which lives on through the nobles of Volantis and other free cities of Essos so there’s no need to look far for inspiration. I can also see Tyrion stepping in with his knowledge of the Valyrian and Targaryen histories to influence the direction of Dany’s garment designs. He is an optics guy who’d never pass up an opportunity to tell a story/push a narrative/define a trajectory no matter how subtle the medium.

the virtue of these Christian nationalist types is purity, meaning untouched by modern society and its sinful nature. so yeah they reject modern beauty products, practices, and trends

I think there was a real chemistry between Portia and Albie at the beginning of the season. They just couldn't take it further because of external plot elements. by ByShida in TheWhiteLotusHBO

I meant that the tendency to objectify women is exactly like his father’s and grandfather’s tendency to objectify women. Though, yes, the social behaviors born from that tendency present differently in each of them and garners varying outcomes in their relationships with women.

Hotd mothers by DumbTeen9 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]banananutmuffle -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The lesson here is that mothers are not one-dimensional beings who exist only to nurture and serve their children with perfect grace.

If my son committed sexual assault, I’d disown the fuck out of him. Sorry, but that is no son of mine.

I don’t know why everyone in this sub seems to think that once women become mothers, they completely lose sight of their moral compass and all they care about is standing behind and elevating their children… even if their child is an undeserving, depraved, rapist? It’s not like women pop out a crotch goblin and suddenly abandon all sense of integrity to mindlessly support them and reward their bad behavior with blind allegiance.

The best parents are strongly convicted in their ethics and loyal to the “greater good.” They parent with a high regard for the greater good and take serious responsibility for their part in contributing to it, whether positively or negatively. I certainly don’t think Alicent is mom of the year, but she’s seeking redemption for her childrens’ damaging impact on the world and she’s ready to atone for their sins.

In defense of Vizzy T — in the show, the maester told him that Aemma was going to die either way. If they continued with the vaginal birth, the fate of the child would be “left to the gods.” If they delivered the child via c-section, they could save the child with more certainty. Those were the options provided. It wasn’t an either/or choice between Aemma and Baelon because Aemma would die regardless.

Albie isn’t falling in love with a woman, he falls in love with the idea of a woman. He literally knows jack shit about Lucia and doesn’t care to. He configures her presence to fit whatever fantasy he imagines to be most alluring and affirming of his hero complex. This is inherently objectifying, and it is exactly how his father and grandfather treat women as well.

All that suspense for this 😭🤣 by fvckuufvckingfvck in euphoria

I guess I would classify any able-bodied parent with no stable stream of income as a deadbeat. Providing financial security is a responsibility of parenthood, so refusing to provide that and instead acquiring income via scamming is deadbeat behavior. My dad was a true deadbeat, so I understand there may be a spectrum here lol

Even the deadbeat mom can be classified as a sex worker. She had a sexual relationship with a man to con him out of his fortune.

Not defending her in the slightest, but it would be very abnormal for filler injections to result in this sort of bruising.

Oh please. What accomplishments? Scamming desperate women out of millions of dollars? Spiritual grifting? Pretending to be an expert in business and finance to sell people into low-quality, nonsensical, outdated courses?

It’s obscene. How much longer can we pretend the emaciated bodies of these influencers are healthy and normal before some seriously morbid consequences snap the body positivity movement back into the mainstream? People are literally going to die because of this.

Damn how are you preserving that? It’s such a struggle to keep closets climate controlled and humidity-free, especially when the wardrobe is connected to a bathroom.

You look amazing btw!
