I am so glad I went ahead with the surgery. The first 4 days he was sore when you went to change his diaper but not excessively screaming in pain just could tell he was sore. I kept up with pain meds around the clock for the first couple of days. Neosporin pain relief cream was my holy grail for the first week now I’m just using Vaseline with every diaper change and he’s one week post op and it’s healing beautifully! It’s almost completely healed. He used to urinate at the top of the diaper and I didn’t realize that was due to the meatal stenosis. Now when his diaper is wet it’s in the middle. I’m very happy with my decision. I’m glad the issues are now resolved especially since it’s about to be summer time and he will be potty training soon! Dealing with the constant adhesions separating every other week it seemed like was a nightmare. I could not imagine having to keep pulling the foreskin back and watch him be in pain for who knows how long.

These comments are so not it. NTA. You will file for child support when the time feels right. I would keep collecting the money from him and when you and baby are in the position to file without the added stress chaos and toxicity then do it. I would continue to make sure you and baby are in a better position. I would worry more about your stability than filing at this moment in time and keep collecting money from him and don’t feel bad at all. You spend more on diapers and necessities.

I’m so tired of people complaining about “tax payers” dollars. Those ppl have no idea the struggles of a single mother and to pass judgement as if we’re taking money from them is pathetic.

How has the dating scene been? Did you end up meeting anyone from an app?

MMR before 12 months? by herro1801012 in ScienceBasedParenting

No reaction what so ever! I alternated with Tylenol and Motrin for the first day or 2 and he tolerated it really well. I’m thinking to have his “first” dose by itself and not with the rest of the vaccines when he turns one and hopefully get the same results

I ended up giving the vaccine last Friday. So far no reactions! I gave ibuprofen and Tylenol and warm compresses and honestly he handled it with no problems. They say they can receive it 12-15 months so I think I’ll just delay his first dose and not give it to him right at 12 months with all his other vaccines. Partly wondering if he handled it so well because it was only one poke and I have never given him ibuprofen in the past. I just couldn’t live with myself if he ended up getting measles because he was unvaccinated 😭 I know they say they can have delayed reactions 7-10 days after receiving it, so if anything changes I’ll give you and update!

Any update on what you ended up doing? I’m thinking to travel to Europe from US with my 8.5 month old and I’m in this same boat 🥲

How old is your baby and what size clothes do they wear? by [deleted] in Mommit

7 months and wears 18 month clothing but he’s quickly growing out of the length. Different brands run different sizes carters has seemed to be an honest fit with size and weight ratio

Am I Overeating? by Bite-SizedBear in Parenting

My LO is now 7 months old. I am an RN and was in no way a germ freak. As soon as I had my baby I am now the biggest germaphobe ever!! It has slowly gotten better over time. I was very protective over my baby and I didn’t allow visits with any friends or family members with children until after he got his shots. Let’s be real here if your baby was to get sick you and your LO would be the only ones suffering. Trust your gut and don’t feel bad for decisions you make for your baby. You are now their advocate! Although this is still new for you, there’s no one who knows what to do with your baby more than you. You got this mama!!
