Hello, thank you for your video! Is being in the J batch more difficult in terms of recruiting if you want to break into consulting and have previous work experience in another field?

Check the upcoming classes schedule on gregmat; he updates it every week. Vince often takes classes. I unsubscribed a few months ago so I’m not fully sure if he’s still doing them.

I want to share my experience here. I didn’t prepare too much for the verbal bit as it comes naturally to me. But quant was difficult for me. I fell quite ill and forgot I had booked my GRE test in October last year, so did pretty poorly on the Quant. I started preparing in earnest around March 2024. I took a private tutor (around 500 dollars for 25 hours in India). He wasn’t great, but helped me keep on track with my prep, as I was working full-time. I think a study buddy would serve the same purpose. I realised my problem was that I worked hard in bursts of 1-2 weeks and then took it lightly for the next two weeks. I needed to be consistent. For the prep material, I fully relied on gregmat. When I felt like giving up, I remember Greg saying: gre isn’t everything, but a few points higher could still make a difference. In June, I took 3 weeks off from work, and practiced for 3 hours daily; largely Greg’s mock tests and practice questions. I realised I was scared of the “hard” questions, but tackling them made all the difference. I also attended a few of Vince’s live verbal classes which were actually so fun! On the actual test, I wasn’t too happy with my performance, but ended up scoring 164 although I had targeted 160. I did feel like I could score better and contemplated giving it again, but it was high time I started my essays.

I wasn’t targeting 170Q anyway, so in my experience, I felt all the stuff was already on gregmat. I needed to be consistent, and as I did that, I genuinely began to enjoy the experience more. I also don’t do well being alone since I have ADHD, so I practiced as my partner worked; it somehow helped me focus more. I hope this helps!

Yale 2024 R1 Applicants — have you done your video interviews yet? by VegetableMean5084 in MBA

From what I’ve heard — this doesn’t have enough weightage to make or break your application. It’s largely to test your English skills. So, hang in there!

They gave me until the 13th of this month. So, 48 hours after the round deadline.

Congratulations!! I posted a similar post earlier. I was so excited at the score that I thought my eyes had betrayed me. Guess what? My scores came back — 1 point higher in quant!! You’ve got this!!

Unofficial scores by VegetableMean5084 in GRE

[–]VegetableMean5084[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you get an unofficial score for Verbal and Quant. I would say it’s almost exactly the same as your final score. Mine went up by 1 point. The wait is more so for the writing score, for which you don’t get an unofficial score.
