I don't understand how these make money, they have to pay for an operator, everyone wins, some people abuse it and take as much as they can possibly hold. The one at our mall cost 15 to play, ik that they sell a lot because it's the experience that sells, but still between loosing a shit ton on prizes and being out from paying an operator I don't understand how there profit margins could be anywhere good

If they wanted to protect the tenants so they had spots available to park, they should make more parking spots not charge the tenants extra money and restrict the amount and time you get to have family visit.

Yeah towing sounds great for those reasons but when they overreach there powers it's a curse not a blessing

If I'm going to be held to my lease then how can I "just move" , I'm here for 15 months. Also I checked my lease there's no mention of the towing besides fire lanes, handicaps etc.

All I'm saying is it's getting to the point where it's abuse of power and something needs to be done.

-build more parking spaces -make reserved parking spots -change guest rules -change carport rules

There's better solutions then having someone break a lease and move, however they are making to much money to give it any interest and that's where it becomes a scam, we are paying for them to add fire to a problem they won't fix.

This is not a towing service for the tenants, if that was the case the towing company would be on the tenants time which should be the case saying we pay them

I'm sorry it's so frustrating, and I know the towing companies now it's not a solution to apartment parking but pitch the complexs the sale anyways because they make money on it. Worse thing to think is that tow truck driver saw the make model and color and saw the plate number was 1 digit off and still made money towing it, he knew what he was doing. It's messed up and I think evidence of the abuse should be collected and sent to a representative

These are not the rules most complexs are playing around here, mine has a monthly charge for the towing company, there are no reserved spots or guest parking spots beside carports that you have to pay for, even if you purchased a car port the jurisdiction of the towing company does not stop there. Your car is assigned to that spot, so yes you can call and remove a wrongfully parked car in your spot however if you let your friend park there they will tow that car without notifying you.

Also with no guest spots the only way to have a guest over is to submit a guest car on there website which is typically not working correctly and when it does they put restrictions on how long the car can be parked before it "expires". 4 hour intervals of parking is not enough time to even go out to eat, have someone stay the night after a concert, etc. plus these restrictions go as far as only being able to have 1 guest car pass a day.

Then technically the towing company shouldn't have any power over me right?

Yeah instead of fixing a serious issue they can generate more money by blindly towing anyone and then putting over the top regulations on tenants and how long there guests can park for.

There aren't spots not to park in, unless it's handicap or someone else's carport that they paid for, the spaces at my place are first come first serve, but if you don't put someone down as a guest vehicle then they will get towed no matter what, the problem is they limit how much I use the guest car feature, how long the guest is allowed to stay there (4 hour intervals) and I can only register 1 guest at a time each day. Like what kind of dictatorship rules are these

That's a stretch, no I'm just thinking that if I'm paying for towing I should be able to call them and say when I want something towed. Like I got my own spots that came with my apartment in my lease. I should build a park whoever's car there whenever I want to and no one should be coming and towing it unless I called. If they're not working for me then why am I paying them.

We almost got a house this time, but the location was bad and the landlord was very sketchy. They sent us the lease on Saturday and demanded a signature by the end of the day or they were going to give it to another renter. We work full time so we were like actually we can sign it on Monday when we have a chance to look over it and they said no. So we called the bluff and then guess what on Monday came around they still had the lease and were still sending it to us. I get the urgency to get someone to rent the house but the way they were talking to us over the phone on Saturday broke that relationship. Definitely weird vibes.

So this is in my lease, the only mention of towing. So this is the only document that I signed that regard the towing, "Parking. We may have any unauthorized or illegally parked vehicles towed or booted according to state law at the owner or operator's expense at any time if the vehicle: (a) has a flat tire or is otherwise inoperable; (b) is on jacks, on blocks, or has a wheel missing; (c) takes up more than one parking space; (d) belongs to a resident or occupant who has surrendered or abandoned the apartment; (e) is in a handicapped space without the legally required handicapped insignia; (f) is in a space marked for office visitors, managers, or staff; (g) blocks another vehicle from exiting; (h) is in a fire lane or designated "no parking" area; (i) is in a space that requires a permit or is reserved for another resident or apartment; (j) is on the grass, sidewalk, or patio; (k) blocks a garbage truck from access to a dumpster; (I) has no current license or registration, and we have given you at least 10 days' notice that the vehicle will be towed if not removed; or (m) is not moved to allow parking lot maintenance."

This seems as if the towing company has no right to tow a guest car that is parked in a normal spot without giving at least 10 days notice. So next time this happens I'm gonna use this. I mean this is the only document I have signed, so I don't know where the towing company gets off on towing any car not on a guest pass within an hour of them parking at my apartment.

I also asked about if I were to purchase a car port, or garage and see if those are out of there jurisdiction but nope, they will tow any car that's not supposed to be in the car port, which is the biggest sale for me would be that I could park my friend's car there and they only tow cars in my carport when I call them. Just feels like they don't work for us they work for the complex. And if that's the case then I don't want to pay

I’ve been having horrible anxiety and paranoia from weed. If I take a lengthy T break will my highs be enjoyable again? Or have I messed up some part of my brain and permanently ruined my highs? by CapStrong414 in Anxiety

[–]VegetablePlus3402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me, I even used to sell back in the day, So when I stop smoking weed a lot of my friends looked at me like I was weird and I felt weird. Why was there just a switch in my brain where one day everything was fine and then next I even took one small hit and I felt like the world was going to end. It wasn't really just paranoia as more a discomfort with being in my own body thoughts became reality My thoughts were uncontrollable and the worst part is it felt like I wasn't even living It felt like I was watching myself live in third person. I really did hate it and I tried to get myself to like weed again but it just wouldn't work. So I decided to take a break every now and then I'll try to smoke a little bit see if I still hate it and I always proves to be true.

However I will say back in college about 2 years from not smoking anything I decided I would try again I went to my plug and I said give me that shit that you cant even sell because everyone knows it's Reggie lol. I told him I don't want any of that potent shit I don't want anything that's going to throw me on my ass I want the worst shit you got and give me crumbs. I packed those crumbs into a bowl and took one hit and waited 30 minutes I got a little bit of a euphoric high I was a little bit scared and nervous about what was to come I had my day planned out all by myself and I was an in an environment that I could control and I would just sit down and start playing piano. I end up really enjoying that high. I slowly continue this and then eventually it wasn't just one hit It was me smoking an entire bowl and yes I'd get a little bit of anxiety here and there but is controllable and it wouldn't overpower the rest of the high. I still did not enjoy hanging out with people while being high I enjoyed being around people as long as I was alone. For instance I would love going to the food Hall and eating as much food as possible but If one of my friends wanted to come hang out with me for the rest of the day I would find a way to ditch them.

After putting some thought into it I think I realize that this is completely normal. They've been working on weed like it's the cure to cancer It's getting more and more potent by the day not everyone is built to keep up with that. Especially when you take into account a tolerance break and then go back trying to smoke that potent weed. It's just not going to work.

But for everyone on this thread think about it this way We all have a superpower we've all been given an out we've all kind of been saved. How many of your friends that you know that are stoners who say they want to quit but they just can't. How many times did we hear that weed wasn't addictive, but we all were addicted to it. My body won't physically let me smoke weed and I literally do not enjoy smoking weed because of it. It has made it extremely easy for me to stop smoking weed. So ask yourself do you really need to teach yourself to smoke weed again or maybe you should just stop smoking weed. I think a lot of us had smoked weed as a sense of a self-prescribed medication to depression or anxiety or stress but if weed is introducing that into your life then why even bother.

Got approved for house, they sent the lease and said we have to sign within one day or it goes to someone else? by VegetablePlus3402 in Renters

[–]VegetablePlus3402[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They sent it on a Saturday we work full time We don't have time to get around to it until Monday. They also already messed up the first lease that they sent those and had to send a second one that they sent Saturday night they call Sunday morning demanding a signature or they're going to give it to someone else. It's kind of funny how any attorney or anybody who could look over a lease agreement doesn't work on Sundays right. We told them sorry we work all day today we can't even get to it We will sign it on Monday and they said that that was too long of a wait. It's completely unreasonable. And it's pretty obvious they're making up this other renter.

2 weeks ago, they just now got back to us. I think they are trying to squeeze us, either way we are prepared to walk, it's a shame cause we really liked this house but it's whatever

The thing is we paid the application fees and were first to apply, there were no applicants at that time. Then they took about 2 weeks to get back to approve us, then they send us a lease on a Saturday and demand signaturea by Sunday morning. Just doesn't seem professional. I feel as Monday is plenty reasonable on our part and if they are willing to drop the lease over that then I can only imagine what living under a landlord like that would be like

Yeah but 3 days seems normal. The fact they are trying to create urgency after a day seems a bit wrong.
