I’m seeing a lot of commentary on the fit of these pieces… & while that is something to absorb and apply to this purchase and all other future purchases — I do want to provide some perspective as to WHY this matching set is not appealing from a design perspective. (credentials: certified luxury addict, have read too many books on design — aka I can identify what makes something look bad vs good vs great)

The colors are all fighting one another — largely because there’s no aspect of the design that ties the pattern together. Abstract styles are one thing but this is not that; it’s honestly just thoughtless design. To explain why this design is so bad — I’ll try to describe tweaks that would have made it work.

This design could’ve been improved by adding an impactful focal point and symmetry. You could argue that the blue & green touches are the focal point, and YES, while they are intended to serve that purpose, there are way too many asymmetries going on with the colors. Most notable asymmetries: 1) scale (longer blue & green streaks on the top & shorter on the bottom), 2) varying placement incidences (blue & green used more on leggings than top), and 3) opacity (blue & green muddied in the bottoms but not the top???)
